The comments are great to read! BTW, the Pilatus can do the same glide landing on any of the islands along the way from SJU. One of reasons they fly so high.
 
The PC-12 has a 16:1 glide ratio.....at 17000' it can glide about 52 miles....roughly half the distance from SJU-SBH, and as you said, within easy glide to many of the islands along the way.....and yes, the pilot referred back to his emergency training and did a great job....Very safe airplane, My little Cherokees have only a 10:1 glide ....
 
With 65 gallons of fuel on board, no less. Wow!! He was beyond amazing. And what a landing!!
