If Covid regulations don't cancel Carnival celebrations this year... Just wondering... what happens in St Barts at that time of the year? Anything fun?

The year we were there during Carnival we saw a very nice little parade of school children and a festive small town kind of celebration. Don't expect Rio or New Orleans fanfare. Actually quite similar to Edgartown Martha's Vineyard Fourth of July of a happy mix of locals doing their thing and tourists trying to be supportive but not get too in the way.

The kids parade is usually the Thursday or Friday before Carnaval - check Le News that week for details. The main event starts on Tuesday around 3:00 PM at the commercial docks and proceeds into Gustavia. Best plan is to book a table at Le Repaire for 1:30 and watch it come by. Jump in the back if you wish. The next evening is the burning of King Vaval at Shell Beach. That smaller parade leaves Le Select after dark and much drank :D

Here’s a few pics from more than a few years ago! https://www.flickr.com/gp/mac_man_va/z1G466

Super cute photo-all about the feathers! Wish we were there for Carnaval..only have been for it in Saint Martin in early 80s and it was one of the most charming parades I have ever seen with all of the schoolchildren walking with their classes all dressed up!
