Binax Emed Testing - 24 hour availability?

Hello all...one would think that this question would be on the FAQ page at the Abbot site...but I've not been able to nail it down there or by unleashing the Google Monkeys. I know some on here have used the tests...so hoping one of you has the answer.

Is the telehealth testing available 24/7? Or are the hours limited?

Trying to figure out if we go the Binax Emed route or try to arrange for testing in SJU when we over night next month...

I was using the NAVICA here in miami on my iPhone 11 Pro and got this response. Had to go through emed on my computer instead , where it worked and uploaded result to NAVICA but customer service said likely I will have to delete app and reload it.

Clearly I didn't want to do that and lose my result currently on NAVICA along the way .... Name: IMG_1928.jpg

Curious to know about testing in SJU as we are overnighting there in March. Was planning on getting Antigen test at our home base morning before we fly to SJU for the night, thinking that might be difficult.

We took our tests on Monday …a couple comments regarding using an iPad…I was using my laptop for a work meeting, so my husband started the test process on his ipad…creating an account was no problem using the Navica App, but when he tried starting the actual test, he was told he had to log in the eMed website using a browser…then when he tried logging in to the site, he got an error saying his browser (Google Chrome) wasn’t supported, and that he had to use Safari…so he started up Safari and was able to log in using that

everything seemed fine until he got to the “Please wait as we connect you to a certified specialist “…he waited, and waited, and waited….after almost an HOUR, I finished my meeting and then started the test using the laptop…I was connected to a specialist with no wait…lol

so after I finished my test, my husband used the laptop for his, and again no wait time . Both test were done with results in about 35 mins.

so we don’t know what luck others have had using an iPad, maybe he just had a rogue connection issue, but it might be good to have access to a laptop or desktop

Did you use them for transit through SXM by chance? Still curious if they are accepting telehealth rapids. Saw the forum on FlyerTalk which seems people have had success.

    Short answer is yes.
We’re using it for the third time and it has been very convenient. Interesting that the boxes are bigger than last summer and bringing 4 (overnight in Puerto Rico and with new 24hour test restrictions for SBH arrival plus our return) takes space.
The total time to complete 2 tests sequentially, on the same laptop takes about 35-40 minutes, but would be half that if each use their own.
One little glitch is the time printed on the emed document is in UTC-had to Google that term. It is 4 hours ahead of the time in Puerto Rico therefore the VeriFLY app sees it as “in the future “ and wouldn’t accept it until entered after the standard time had passed last night, eg test taken at 1755, but UTC shows 2155; was accepted when entered at 2230. Hopefully, that technicality gets ironed out with VeriFLY.
Either way we’re covered for SJU to SBH today.

For what it’s worth, St. Maarten WILL NOT take an eMed / NAVICA antigen test for the EHAS. I found out the hard way. Had to go get a laboratory test last minute.

Just curious. Am I hearing that you are only able to successfully use NAVICA for test administration on a laptop or desktop? Not a tablet or phone? NAVICA site for testing only via browser v. app?

You can use phone or iPad to eMed NAVICA test no problem. Just need Wi-Fi. You cannot use it for your EHAS to St. Maarten though. They denied me 5 times yesterday.

I believe Kevin used it successfully on an iPad on his return back to the States. It should work on any connected device, but as we all know there are always issues! BTW, the NAVICA app is made for iOS devices.

Oh boy. Are you staying on SXM, and that's why you need the test? People are reporting great experiences with day before testing at the pharmacy, from what I am reading/hearing.

I was able to use eMed/Navica on an iPhone and an iPad, but it failed on my iPad Pro.

Thus is contrary to everything that I’ve seen here and elsewhere.
