We got home yesterday from our vacation in SXM and SBH. We spent 5 nights in SBH to ring in the new year. We had a great time, we spent our beach days at Shell beach or Nikki in between Nikki and Gypsea. We had dinner at Eddy’s , Black Ginger, Bananiers, Le Select and L ’Isola.
At L ‘Isola we sat at the table next to Leo DiCaprio and his girlfriend, Nick Jonas and his wife and some other people. We have been going to the island for about 20 years now. We’ve been in the summer with our kids, we’ve been for bucket, we’ve been in November and every year we say it’s out last year. The accommodation and restaurant prices are just crazy. Yes we know over the holidays is the most expensive time on the island and it’s when we have been going for the past 10 years or so. We like to enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner it’s very hard to find a bottle for under 100 euros. Overall we had no problems finding a parking spot at night in town or at the beach. We really do enjoy the island and it’s people the vibe etc. We had a good visit with Eddy and talked about his dad passing. We saw Ed G every night at Le Select . We danced to the music truck in the street, we enjoyed the spectacular fireworks on new year eve. But we also like SXM so we spent 5 nights there before SBH, the we came back for 10 nights then back to Houston. We used Great Bay Express so we didn’t have to get a covid test to enter SBH. We used the at home test on Monday to re- enter the USA it worked very good $70 for 2 test , no wait time.
