    Updated inexpensive restaurant list~eat like a local….

    Greetings!

Thank you and Love reading the posts to catch up on all things St. Bart’s……..

Hubby and I are heading to SB in a few weeks for a few weeks. We’ve been coming for many years and have our “routine” down. We have eaten at many of the restaurants mentioned in the forum but found that we can extend our trip if we don’t blow the budget on expensive meals EVERY day and can have just as much fun!!!

Besides the usual, Marche U groceries, La Petite Colombe Bakery, Au Regal, Chez Rolande, JoJo Burger, Le Select and Les Bananiers (especially the pizza!)……..What is on everyone’s list to eat like a local??

    Merci!

    Nancy

Hi Nancy- you can add L’Isoletta and Le Cantina to your list and for truly local Le Portugal if you can stand the smoking.

Hi Nancy..Just a heads up about the pizzaola at Bananiers.Luigi has remained in Europe and there is a new team at the pizza ovens. Happy to report the tartufato pizza with truffles is still a special on the menu there. The menu food is still delicious but there is a change in the pizzas.

    Amy,

Awwwwww sorry to hear Luigi is not there. My husband said he was the “hardest working pizza man on the island” We will definitely miss him. Our villa is in Colombier and it was definitely our go to…..

For take away pizza we have always enjoyed La Santoise in Corossol when staying on that end of the island. Its been a while for us, but they appear to still be in business based on their Facebook page.

Le Bouchon in Lorient is easy on the wallet with pizza, panini, salads, burgers, and a few plats. You can dine in or take away.

Also Le Creperie in Gustavia has lovely food, especially the desserts!

Le Select has increased their prices, and is not the inexpensive lunch that it used to be.

    Chez Yvon
    La Licorne
    Take out from Cre’age
    all very local….
(We have friends who got bbq ribs from Cre’age last week and having been lost in translation, ended up with 4 full slabs for the two of them. )

I think the Marius burger is €17.00…still a big increase….

Le Piment was a very pleasant surprise for us in 2020 and fits the definition.

Le Piment and Le Bouchon don't seem to get a lot of amour around here, but we like their local vibe, satisfying offerings, and painfree pricing.

I “get” the things that you like. But, there’s generally too much cigarette smoke for my tastes (no pun intended).

Haha, so funny. I imagined a bunch of locals sitting around a restaurant smoking cigarettes. Then I saw Cassidain's video... Lol

Ate at both Bouchon and le Creperie last week and they are both super choices. Great burgers and pizza at le Bouchon and le Creperie is seldom crowded and has a full menu. And, as always, Eddys never disappoints.
