This is one of our favorite times to be on island. A very special vibe. The sightings can be spectacular and the sailboats are mind blowing in design and craftsmanship. The teamwork is a joy to watch.
I have so many pictures, but each race has me clicking away. Observing the speed and the skill and then seeing the spinnakers unfurl--PRICELESS.
Oh can't wait...I have some great pictures also from years past and some great videos from 2018 in particular but I dare not try to upload because I am technology challenged. Our daughter is bringing her boyfriend with us this March and he has never been to St Barths before...he has no idea what he is in for. What a way to experience the island for your first time! JEK...that is a spectacular photograph...I remember that yacht!
Danneskjold (105 ft) sailing below Maltese Falcon (288 ft) during the 2017 Bucket (the other sailboat is Free in St Barth, the type of boat in the West Indies Regatta):
I agree, that boat is a beauty, although it is odd that there is no one on the outside when sailing, the entire rig is run by a joy stick and a bank of computers inside the bridge...
