Road Closings

Does anyone know when the road above Lorient will reopen?
Any other road closings on the island?

Thanks,
Tim

During my recent visit on SBH, local chatter for re-opening of the Camaruche hill, including among some in the Collectivite, was that it is likely to be pushed into November.

The Collectivity informs you that Voie 209 between Lorient and Camaruche will be open to both directions of traffic from 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

As a reminder, the work consisted of:

• Bury the electrical and telephone networks;
• Install a Ø300 drinking water pipe to supply the Vitet tank;
• Install a new Ø 150 water distribution pipe;
• Deploy optical fiber;
• Set up a rainwater flow management system;
• Set up public lighting in sensitive areas (bends - exit from private roads, etc.);
• Create a sidewalk in the climb to the right and in the continuity of the previous sections of work;
• Reshape the roads to improve grip and safety;
• Widen the dangerous turn;
• Build various retaining walls on the ravine side and the hill side;
• Complete repair of the road surface.

The Collectivity thanks the collective effort for the good progress of this work.
