Usually Columbus Day is the unofficial end of the post season out here. I stay full time during September to do chores and get the house ready to close about the middle-late October. I make a trip out then to see the colors change on our barrier island.

I remember Fall trips to FI through end of October . . . it was a lovely time -- reminiscent of SBH in off season.
