. . . a few chores, some new discoveries, & a delicious lunch.
The day started with an outing to other side of the island — far end of Colombier — to see our seamstress about new pillow covers. A mother / daughter team, working from their home (with a breathtaking view!), they also have a menagerie of animals, including some baby goats.
. . . next down a very steep, winding road to check out the situation at Petite Anse (looking good, I thought).
. . . on to the Collectivité’s “dump” & recycling center to dispose of boxes of old paper materials (registration as a local owner was required).
. . . driving through Gustavia, two notes of interest — construction at the planned Joel Robuchon restaurant continues on the ground level, while furniture was being unpacked & carried to the second, open air floor; a bit farther on the street, two shops next to the former “La Route des Boucaniers” (I don’t remember it’s most recent name) are being incorporated into its current renovation, thus creating a significantly larger interior space.
. . . “brunch” was at Café Gloriette, with a delicious Mahi tartar; zucchini & leek risotto; and dessert of a small portion of banana bread with chocolate
. . . finally, I checked on a new “poke bowl” restaurant next to (& owned by) Burger Palace. Spaces to sit inside & out. Menu items look great — I’ll return.
Back to the Villa . . . a swim & little bit of work in the “day job” before going to dinner at home of friends Ellen & Rosemond (tasty fresh Daraude with delicious rice & mushrooms).
A great day in “Paradise!”
