    Is this a scoop?

Lots of work going on in the Cote Port building on the harbor. Was the sign always still up? It is now

At the airport. The Cote Port sign is on the old building with workers there. But maybe the sign was always there

word on the street is that Hervé will take that space again once complete, makes sense as he has sold QG.. they have ripped GQ apart completely and sold everything but the floorboards... !

Wasn't GQ's menu the same as the old Cote Port or am I confusing it with another restaurant?

similar menu, as it was the same owner, Hervé, who also had Le Rivage and O'Corner etc before having Coté Port... things like the Salad Pilou followed him around the island...the big issue I have with his restaurants is that smoking is permitted and it's rather unpleasant at times...

Perhaps smoking is allowed because Herve smokes?

I agree, but it is his restaurant.

since most of the gendarmes ate at his restaurant in gustavia and a lot of the gendarmes smoked...it was a non issue.

I am not a smoker either, but it seems to me that the french smoke more than americans do, not much can be done...

Not a "quelle surprise!" since the new owner -- reportedly -- is of the St. Tropez / Cannes / Nice category, which seems to be unrelentingly gobbling-up SBH patrimonie. (Forgive me for expressing a potentially controversial opinion).

Smoke aside good ol' Le Rivage was good, especially their fish soup.

It was a bit of irony to see the chairs from Le Rivage in Hideaway, when Andy bought them.

Herve has staff under contract and has always taken care of his "kids".... They all knew he would start again for them. Good guy.

I too have appreciated the care Herve takes of his crew. A caring owner...among the best.
