The article does say human feces. Ivermectin is widely available as a drug to prevent heart worm in dogs.
Agree though dogs should be kept off of the beaches, even though they are usually cute to see.

Ah, correct you are! Not sure why I remembered this specific high-profile incident being from dog waste, but the risk remains from any feces left on the beach nonetheless. We definitely don’t want dogs (or people :laughing-cry
being allowed to defecate on the sand we all walk barefoot on.
