A GAMBLING MAN by Davis Baldacci.

return of Archer, his PI noir hero! A fun ride. Nothing really new plot wise, but Baldacci delivers it so well.I could picture the whole thing in stunning black and white.

I have been a Baldacci fan since his first books.

His autobiographical WISH YOU WELL is still on my all time favorite list. Growing up with his grandparents in rural America..may have been Kentucky. A poor boy with great family values.

Archer is a likable main character.

I was reading an interesting article where he was talking about how the Archer character was originally supposed to be a short-story ebook format. Obviously it went a little further than that.
