"It's good for the island"

We came because we travel a lot (Annick is accompanied by her husband). So it had better be done. We're here for the second injection. We had an appointment at the dispensary but we had to come here. Considering the world, we were afraid to wait too long but no, I went first! We're leaving on Thursday, so that'sIt was my pharmacist who gave me the injection. It is good for the island that there are people (at the vaccinodrome, editor's note). That way we will be protected. Afterwards, it is the tourists who will bring us other things!
a lot and he's a lot more at risk than me. After this vaccination, there is less worry, nervousness or anxiety about Covid. But I will not let my guard down and I will continue to take the same precautions. I am for people to be free to choose, but I am happy to see so many people today. It's extraordinary.

"To be able to return visit to thefamily "

It is important for us to come and get vaccinated because we had the Covid in November and we were very, very bad for three weeks. The vaccine will help us, especially for
travel because you would like to go to Santo Domingo to see the family. But we will continue to wear the mask and be careful. It’s better that everyone comes. Afterwards, at least here, we might be able to say that it is over with the Covid.

Stéphanie, 42 years old, Anses des Cayes

"That all world feels safe "

I came to be vaccinated in the hope of returning to a normal life and that the island can reach the threshold of collective immunity. I am rather in favor of vaccination, for everything
type of disease by the way. The goal today is for everyone to feel safe. At the beginning, I found the situation and the period very anxiety-provoking, but since the prospect of being able to protect oneself arrived, things have improved. And then it is true that for my age group, there is less concern than for the generation of our parents or our grandparents.

Aurélien, 26 years old, seasonal

" It's better to do vaccinate "

I've been doing the seasons in Saint-Barth for a while. I have been there since October. The world situation is not great but here we are well sheltered, a little disconnected. My parents in metropolitan France tell me that it is better to get vaccinated. It’s not easy there. So, since we have the opportunity here to do it, I come. For Saint-Barth, if everyone is vaccinated, we may be able to reopen the borders. It will be good for the job.

Rebecca, 61, Toiny

"I couldn't go to the funeral of my father "

I let you imagine: my father died in June and I couldn't go to his funeral because we couldn't move. That’s what I’m here for. Today I am here to protect myself, but also to protect my family and friends. I just hope the island will be too. When I have seen in recent months
tourists coming here, without a mask or protection, it pained me. So now I hope everyone is safe on the island.

Sébastien and Kévin, 28 and 23 years old, Saint-Jean

"We live in our bubble ”

Sébastien: The vaccine, professionally, will help us. And then after to travel we will no longer be blocked. I hope after that there will be a little more flexibility.

Kevin: I get vaccinated to be reassured, especially when I have symptoms that resemble those of Covid. But also to be able to travel because it is certain that now we will be asked if we are vaccinated. I hope for a reopening of the borders. We do not realize what is happening elsewhere, such as in metropolitan France. Here we live in our bubble. So we can contain the pandemic, our way.

Laurence, 57 years old, Governor

"I'm not going to lower my guard

I have concerns about my husband's health. So I pushed him for the vaccination, and I accompanied him and supported him. And then we travel a lot and he is much more at risk than me. After this vaccination, there is less worry, nervousness or anxiety about Covid. But I will not let my guard down and I will continue to take the same precautions. I am for people to be free to choose, but I am happy to see so many people today. It's extraordinary.

Nice to hear the views of island residents who are vaccinated, as well as their personal concerns for family and others around them. Also, hearing the numbers of SBH residents being vaccinated against the COVID virus is great news.

The ‘stirring’ was started by the thread subject. I suggest to the ‘mods’ to cease putting up opportunities to discuss people’s attitudes pro and con ‘vaxing.’

Suggestion noted, but this was a SBH subject taken verbatim from Le Journal and germane to the reopening of the island. I posted it.

There was a counterpoint, in the following Le Journal that I missed.

They will not go to be vaccinated against COVID-19

If more than 2200 people made the trip to the Saint John vaccination center, many others refuse to be vaccinated. Some explain the reason for their choice.Lapupontontrefare will be explained in mindManierayonymous.Parcraintestrecalogged as "complotists" or "wacky" for some, while others feel the loss of their jobs or "see doors close".

"Why take the risk? »

I never doubted modern medicine, but today I would have a serious doubt that vaccination against Cvid- can allow us to return to normality. When I see that COVID kills 0.3% of the population, I'm wondering why we need to take the risk of being vaccinated without knowing where it leads us. We have too little step back.

"M", 43 years old, Grand Cul-de-sac

"I am archi against the vaccine"

I was the first to be afraid of this pandemic in March 2020. When I see myself with all the precautions I took, I laugh today. But so I respect the beliefs of everyone because I went through all stages. Except the vaccine. I am archi against and since the beginning of the pandemic. Today we do not have enough back on the negative effects, and it seems that COVID kills only 0.04% of the population. So take the risk of vaccinating and perhaps turning this virus into monster, my choice is quickly done. I do not know what hides behind all that but what I know is that there is a big financial issue for pharmaceutical laboratories. And then the pressure we are put, all this fear and even blackmail to get a vaccinated ... it gives me a stomach ache.

"I want to have more recoil"

It's too early for me. I'm glad there is this vaccination for people who want to be vaccinated. I'm in full healthy, I'm not afraid of
Trot the COVID. The vaccines, in general, it's not my thing. What gene me is that we are imposed something. If that were the case, it would be an attack on our freedoms. My choice is not to get vaccinated for now. After, if we understand me that I can no longer travel, I will reconsider my decision. Because I have family who is not on the island. But I want to have a lot of recoil. We have bad info, we do not know what to believe. And then vaccination does not move to transmit the virus, so I do not consider it indispensable for me.

"I am for the principle precautionary "
One of the problems is that there are so many people who do not see the reopening of the island only by the vaccine ... I am not categorical and I respect the opinions of each. After all, the vaccine can be the miraculous solution. But I am for the precautionary principle. Specialists explain that one is in experimental phase until 2022 or 2023. That we protect the elderly or fragile, very good. But it's not just vaccination that allows it. Studies show that much of the population is vitamin D deficiency. We can imagine that if everyone had made a vitamin cure, the situation would probably be better. There, with this vaccination, there is a risk of modification of the DNA. I do not see the interest of being vaccinated. Not to mention any side effects. Too much risk for by enough profits. With the decline, the measurements are not consistent. People are going very badly.

"B" 43 years old Gustavia

"It's not a simple vaccine"
I will not vaccinate because it is not a simple vaccine but an experimental injection of modified genetic material on which we have no decline. This will not fish from catching COVID or being contaminant, will not remove the obligation of the port of the mask or the restrictions on displacements and social distance.

"L, 72, COROSSOL

"People serve experimentation"
I read that injections were not valid but during experimentation. I do not know if people are aware that they serve this experiment. I am very cautious. There are enough treatments that exist to heal. There are plenty of preventive means to have a good immune system and keep healthy. I am not at all for these vaccines. I want to know what's in it.

"A", 45, Gustavia

"Vaccination is ineffective"
In the first place, it is a gene therapy, not a vaccination. We do not know what it involves behind. It brakes me. The vacation, regardless of the process, it is ineffective. In addition its lethality is high globally. Here we know

Every Vaccine is Gene Therapy. They didn't give us polio when we were vaccinated for it. I even remember at the age of 70. I don't remember everything having Parkinson and some dementia.

Now that is fair balance.
However, my thought is to let the debate lie on another Forum, even if pros and cons are published in the local SB news. Otherwise, the debate will go on interminably on the Forum.
I googled the CDC on their history with vaccine problems of the past and they have quite a long list. Didn’t choose to post the link.
Stating % vaccinated on the island is helpful to those considering a journey to the island.

Please don't post anything in this Forum unless it concerns the island. I'm really tired of moving posts :biglaugh:
