Who flew on the Concorde?
Members of our family have- they said the benefit was the shortened flight to Europe. Otherwise they said it was cramped in the seats and a tiny cabin. ‘But well worth it.’

If the US had high-speed trains like that... part of the issue I think is that you can't reach those "bullet train" speeds on short distances...

It is all in the tracks. Too many speed limiting curves and general condition of the rails, ties and underlying foundation.
