    Rowing to St Barts

I don’t recall this being posted. Is he considered essential?

Very impressive! That’s some “row boat” he’s got. Godspeed to him!

    Kenavo,

    Guirec

    My last Sunday at sea!

These are my last days of rowing, my crossing is coming to an end and according to my calculations, I should arrive at Gustavia harbour in St Barth, this Friday February 26th by the end of the day.
I'm a little nostalgic ... but nothing like a good Breton lobster from home to celebrate! I tried snorkeling to see if I could find more exotic ones, but I'm lacking a bit of volume in my lungs to reach 6,000 meters deep.
Still no fish at the end of my line neither. I bet you really think that I am a poor fisherman. Remember my wintering in autarky in the Greenland ice floe with Monique ... We had only caught 2 sea urchins in 130 days. Actually, I promise you, I'm not that bad, but I still have to confess something to you: Loneliness makes me quickly develop feelings towards the fish that follow me.

Yesterday, for example, a superb dorade kept me company for a good part of the day. She played on the surface with my boat and regularly came to rub against my oars. I couldn't help but lift my line, I was so afraid of hurting it, after so many hours spent by my side.

Fortunately, thanks to the best cannery in France, la Paimpolaise, I have the holds full of great products which, from the first bite, send me straight back to my Brittany

Me no understand these two statements from the first post:

    1) Monique provided him an egg a day for the 30 day crossing (I thought it was 74 days, but that another story)

    2) During the course of navigation, Monique provided Gueric with 1,278 eggs

That's 42 eggs per day for a 30 day trip, or 17 eggs per day for a 74 day trip. Humm. The bionic chicken?

That Monique definitely had a great gig! Much better than hanging out in a boring old pen day in and day out.
