Hi Andy.

John’s map was very helpful in clearly displaying the site on route D211 in the the area you proposed as “GRAND FOND?” That was my guess too...but we have not been out and about exploring as we usually are when here and I needed help on this one.

This forum is very good at answering queries and being helpful.

Thanks for all that you do, John, CEC, Kevin, Ellen, Izzy and ANDY as well so many others.

way too concentrated, not sure how they got a permit for that, the rule is supposed to be 20% of the land size... clearly that's close to 100%. And there is already a shortage of water and electricity not to mention horrible traffic and no parking. one has to wonder that they are thinking?

I have not been down that way since pre Thanksgiving. Time to take a road trip later when the rain stops.

If it's not in the green/reserve zone then it's in play, that shouldn't surprise anyone. If you are one that doesn't want to see all of the pressures this subdivision brings to the environment then it's an affront to your senses. Personally it pains me to see this.

Brings to my mind Long Island’s Levittown. Hundreds of houses went up to provide housing for returning GIs and their young families after WWII.

no, not all. Many families wanted the dream, to get out of the city. My family left crowded Brooklyn for our first home in Queens, another less developed borough of NYC. Many left Manhattan and headed north to the Bronx. They hoped for a better life for their children.

You may remember I have long been a champaign of Year Up and it was in working with that organization I discovered the false hope the FHA gave to so many returning GIs. It became one of the major factors in the economic divide in America.
