This excellent novel is based on the true story of Nancy Wade, a young Australian woman, who became a most wanted spy. The Gestapo named her The White Mouse because she evaded their efforts to capture her. Wade became the leader of the Maquis, the French Resistance movement where her exploits became legends. If you read the book and wish to know more about this amazing women, there are several documentaries about her on YouTube.
