    Re: Sxm is.a disaster

First time at SXM I had no issues. But...I noticed a lack of some things that could cause issues if busy. Sure enough, passed through on 12/21 and it was a very disorganized mess. I thankfully had...

Great, thanks. Oddly sitting at the bar is the preference for my family, including my mom who doesn't even drink.

    Best Restaurant For Solo Traveler

See some good spots highly recommended on here like Tamarin, L'Esprit, Black Ginger, Francois Plantation, etc.

Any of them good for a solo traveler looking to eat at the bar? I hate taking up a...

Traveling only with a small carry on when I come down next month. I believe I will be doing this a time or two during the trip.

    Re: Charleston in February

Edmunds Oust is another great spot. Husk is the most recommended place but I don't typically make reservations when I travel so never have eaten there.

    Hominy Grill is good breakfast.

    Re: Charleston in February

I know they changed it up since I last was there but I'm sure the quality is still good, McGradys.
  9. Re: Highly recommend not cancelling, but anyone cancelling or postponing and why?

My trip next month includes stops at some other islands that were not as affected so I figured I would keep my flights, if they were still good, and just expand my time on those other islands if St...

    Re: Beach Conditions

Just a general reference to all the great small places we have lost over the years here in Florida and I'm sure some have been lost over time on St Barth's and other islands. The small funky...

    Re: Beach Conditions

Yep, nothing you can do about the shacks getting wiped out by storms. Its just the loss of them combined with other development that can change an area so quickly.

It is such a tough situation...

    Re: Beach Conditions

Unfortunately as long as it is allowed then people will build way too elaborate structures way too close to the water. Florida is a perfect example of what not to do to the coastline. But that...

Right now my Delta flight in December is showing nearly full. Hopefully that means they will not change it.

Flying Winair as well since I'm going to a few islands on this trip(Saba, St Barth, and Statia). Hoping for easy layovers but I understand it may not be the funnest part of the trip. I just travel...

Ive been wondering about layovers there. That video of the tent terminal only showed what happened for people staying on St Martin with the flow leading people out to a taxi area. I have some...

    Re: No reconstruction funds?

I saw that Anguilla is extending the runway and is looking to make changes for more traffic. I wonder if that will become a more accessible option for flying into the region.

Re: Stopover in MIA on the way to SXM

Yep, sounds like they are using MIA as collection point for all the people to catch the flight to SXM. I was already doing a layover there on my way back to Tampa from SXM.
