Re: A timely brand name for Rhum J. M

Good spelling, without the second “.”.

My recollection is that La Cave du Port Franc carries Rhum J.M products. I’ll look there. Plus I know someone who knows someone there,

    Re: Sargassum St Jean

There’s no “big pipe” there. What is there, in my understanding, is runoff from malfunctioning condominium waste systems. I have no clue why nothing has been done about those.

And the verdict from the Cap’n is that Rolltide is right. You don’t rinse your steaks, and you shouldn’t rinse properly cleaned fish either.

Not doubting or disbelieving, but as old time SBHOnliners know, when there’s fish involved, “I’ll have to ask the Cap’n”, LOL.

    As I said, Miami!

And the Vivaneu, the Red Snapper, is sometimes caught in the waters between Martinique and Venezuela. Not exactly local.

    Cool. Hummingbirds are amazing.

Can we talk about nesting season for Racoons, which I’m not happy about at the moment. Pest Control is coming.

Cass, Villa Rental agencies agreed with your original belief, at least in the past. I've rented villas in Les Hauts de St Jean. All were at the peak of La Route de Saine, and take a left.

Yup. From Miami, that's probably true. Captain Mike was not shy about his opinions on fresh fish, but he knows Tuna (and other fish). I know Tuna on his boat too. I've been there, carving off...

Plus, despite what people believe, not all tuna served in restaurants is from local fishermen. There’s a good amount that comes in from the fish market in Miami. Your “local” tuna may be from...

    Re: Sargassum St Jean

That end of St Jean, to the right of ER, is a beach that I would never swim on. I don't care for some of the runoff which enters the water there.

Parking is more accessible, but not the beach. The stairs down to the beach will still be an obstacle for many.
