    Re: Beach restaurant in Lorient?

I’m told that the location is where the ER pop-up was after Irma, and that it will be the beach restaurant for the new Tropical Hotel.
  2. Re: Caribbean Port Welcomes Six Cruise Ships for the First Time in 20 Months

    Good for them.

Marine Traffic, cruise websites and Andy’s News of the Day show that there are very few cruise ships visiting St Barth.

Re: Y’all be careful down there

The decimal point is subtle. I should have written it as 8/10. It is point 8 inches, not 8 inches.

I don’t know how many of these météo-SBH.com stations are live, but Grand Fond seems to be where the most rain is, about .8” so far.

    Rain Coming?

Only time will tell if this is something or nothing. 50mm is about 2 inches, 80mm is just over 3 inches, and 100mm is about 4 inches.

    Re: Booster Required

Your math is about right. If the island population is about 10,000 then maybe closer to 4,000 without a PS than 5,000, but a significant number.

Re: Best Breakfasts on the island

Hôtel Barrière Le Carl Gustaf has a Sunday Brunch with a view over Gustavia harbor. It’s worth checking for weekdays too. Another option is L’Atellier Joël Robuchon, where I suggest a Rooftop table.

There is also a long-standing issue of St Barth wanting to have more control over healthcare on the island, rather than Guadeloupe.

Nice wine. Pricey for sure, but all 1er Cru White Burgundies are. I do like Meursaults, and it looks like a nice Côte d’Or wine that I would be happy to try.
