    Re: 135 Euro Parking Fine!

Thanks for the heads up! We park on the sidewalk across from the Anglican Church all the time, but didn't know that it was the only place where it is acceptable.
  5. Re: Easter Sunday at Nikki Beach-Champagne Shower!

Hmm, well here we go. Again not my cup of tea but it infused probably $10,000 into this economy and all of the workers here, who so sorely need it.
  6. Re: Easter Sunday at Nikki Beach-Champagne Shower!

Not really our cup of tea either, but amusing. I can't say that I have ever seen anything like it before. Only in St. Barts. Someone paid for a lot of worker salaries that day!
  7. Printing out an American Airlines boarding pass on a Sunday afternoon

I understand that we might be able to do this at the Wimco office across from the airport, but I doubt they are open on Sundays. Any other suggestions? Maybe we should just download boarding passes...

Hmmm, I'll try to figure out another way to post. The weird thing is I can open it. (Not technically savvy!)
  11. Easter Sunday at Nikki Beach-Champagne Shower!

Probably a hundred bottles of Champagne for the shower. I think they should have drunk them.
    (Yes Drunk)

    The SHORT answer is YES.

    Re: Water rations

There have been some significant downpours in the last few days, so hope this helps. The villa next to the parking lot at Gouverneur is still watering profusely. Oh well.
  16. Re: Current sargassum conditions on St. Barth

Oh, and also the 15-16 knot winds have abated, and the forecast for the next few days is for 7 knot range. Yeah!!!
  17. Re: Current sargassum conditions on St. Barth

    None on Grand Saline today.

    Re: Forum gathering April 19

That's me with the sleepy eyes, taking another public nap! Thanks to Ellen for organizing the event and for Wimco for picking up the tab for the first round. It was really nice to meet all of you!

    Re: Drought

We were at Gouverneur yesterday, and the sprinklers were going off all over the property immediately to the right of the parking lot as you face the ocean. We actually got wet while unpacking our car!

    Probably, until Tuesday.
  21. Re: Will the beaches be crowded on Easter Sunday? Gouvenour was packed on Friday.

Yes, Monday is a holiday as well. Then it clears out.
  22. Re: Will the crowds let up after Easter and the Regatta?

Yes. We have been coming this time of year for twenty years, and that is usually the case.

    Re: Restaurant Tamarin before Irma.

That place was so beautiful. Unfortunately, we had a waiter who thought it was great to make fun of tourists. Perhaps something was lost in translation, but my wife will not go back.

    Departure fee?

I'm trying to recall, if we stop for a few days in St. Martin, before we fly Winair from SXM to SBH, will we have a departure fee on top of our air fare? Thanks

Re: Maybe better to say nothing

It's not for everybody, but it certainly is for us! We have discussed with friends we have made over the years in St Barts not "overselling" our island. Not everyone get's it, and that is quite...

    2 VERY Important Questions!

Is Segeco still open (upstairs now but same building)? And is it still the best place to buy Veuve Clicquot? Now back to my countdown.
  32. Re: To Sunbathe or Not to Sunbathe on the island? That is the question.

Re: When we fell in love with St. Barths

I think it was in the early 2000s when we finally took the short plane hop from St Martin to St. Barts. I'll check the guest book in our villa when we arrive for the date, as it shows our first...
  35. Re: To Sunbathe or Not to Sunbathe on the island? That is the question.

We purchased a TeleBrella in January from Shadeusa, perhaps we heard about it on SBH, but don't remember. We took it to New Zealand for a month, and I must say, it is the most practical, well...
