I’m still wondering who the dancer is
One of my children said something to that effect: that it was somehow offensive to say “Oriental” (referring to people) and that “Asian” was preferred
Sounds psycho to me.
The Occident...
Kevin, le Proche-Orient extends as far west as Egypt. Still a bit east of owner’s native Algeria. But I guess culture and cuisine of Algeria similar to that of le Proche-Orient ?
:heart1:
Perhaps our friend iJEK can help with those technical issues ?
I was hoping you would respond to this thread, Rosemary :blush-smile:
Le Piment offers their tapas menu (not full menu) at the bar.
Our past experience is that, if you can manage to become a “friend of the house”, the full menu may be available at the bar :nerd:
Very cool !
Not something I recall reading on the forum before.
I think we have a few other real sailors among us, n’est-ce pas?

isn't this the bar at L'Esprit ? would seem like a strange place to dine. maybe that's just me ?
La Guérite sounds like an interesting idea for eating at the bar. I think they have a large, centrally located bar? Dennis could weigh in on that.
that may be. that said, eating dinner at the bar is not really much part of French culture like in the US.
we reserve dinner seats at the bar at L'Isola. i assume others can do same.
le piment fun, very local, bar for good casual dinner with good vibe.

Here is a guide to Domaines Ott offerings:...
Global luxury goods and services giant LMVH purchases controlling interest in Château d’Esclans. Whispering Angel is Esclans’ mass market rosé. As a reminder, LMVH also owns Cheval Blanc hotels...
I trust, mon ami, that you have leaned towards the upper end of today's cartes des vins for your special day of plundering :nerd:
K, we're on the same wavelength. Location, location, location. Throw in a bit of cachet for good measure.

an initiative from the com will be executed this season. replacing the old directional signs with new plaques.
les quartiers will still have their indications. along with sites of...
not sure I would call GCdS "murky". it is a lagoon, with its reef barrier, and is very shallow, but I think the waters are generally clear, n'est-ce pas ?
To someone who once said, it’s a brave man who would eat an oyster from the Chesapeake Bay, I would point to the cold, pristine waters of the Damariscotta in Maine. :nerd:
K,
getting all from operations on the Damariscotta River. Source on clams just says « Maine grown and raft purged ». Not specifically where grown. I would guess not too far away? From very...
My Thanksgiving déjeuner is going to be a plateau of Glidden Points and Maine Cherrystones on the half shell and cold Maine lobster with housemade lemony mayonnaise. Bollinger of course.

Ha ! There are a number of wicked passages around the island. Was thrilled to read that the improvements accompanying the cable trenching in Lorient now will march up Camaruche hill and beyond...

Why not go local and drink rhum agricole and not rhum industriel ?
That doesn’t surprise me.
Quelle est l’expression ?
Des photos, ou rien ne s’est produit ?
Merci à toi, iPops
What ? Pas de photos?!
I assume les gardes de corps kept the paparazzi at bay from this august gathering of SBH VIP’s :nerd:
