Ok, thanks, we'll go earlyNote . . . I like the restaurant a lot, but be forewarned that it’s generally very loud. A very energetic & youthful vibe.

Hotel Le Barthélemy is within walking distance of my house, so I go there often. The vibe is very mellow . . . interestingly enough, comfortable for people of all age groups. I think you would like it.Ok, thanks, we'll go earlyI also saw the bar Seven Stars at Le Barthelemy has some light bites. They have Cinco Jotas ham, which my husband loves. Do you know what the vibe is there?
Great job, Bob, in sharing “food porn!” Addictive to see the photos, not to mention eating there!
Great, I'll add it to the list, thanks so much!Hotel Le Barthélemy is within walking distance of my house, so I go there often. The vibe is very mellow . . . interestingly enough, comfortable for people of all age groups. I think you would like it.
I agree. My daughter recently commented that Le Papillon Ivre is always the most expensive meal of the trip and this includes dining at Sand Bar, Le Toiny, Beef Bar, Bonito, Bagatelle and Tamarin. Since the plates are "petite," we continue to order until we are satisfied. The wines we are offered typically start in the 200 euro range, glasses at 35 euros with a pour to match the size of the "small plates."Perhaps? Nonetheless, I always find the total of "small plates" to be surprisingly expensive.

Agreed that the pours seem a bit smaller than a standard restaurant glass pour, however the price per glass is commensurate with the price of the bottle. Also they will tailor the bottle to your price range. Not trying to change any made-up minds! Just wanted to share our experience.I agree. You gave it a go and now you know for the next time, RisaThose Mamo dishes look amazing!
Re: Le Pap. It does add up. I didn't enjoy it as much this past trip from a price:value POV, but that's due to being with a group of 6 and disparate food preferences, especially mine. ALL of my meals on this trip were significantly more than usual, as I was subsidizing some bigger appetites (I mean, I do not eat foie gras, but I was paying for it!), both food and alcohol (especially since some were having more than 4-5 cocktails, and/or wine, and I was driving - not that I can tolerate more than 2 glasses, maybe 3 even if I weren't driving.) I should have been more aggressive about ordering what I eat at Le Pap, but the bill ran very high and I was less than satisfied, even though I love the place. That's on me. I loved the idea of traveling with a larger group and staying in a GORGEOUS villa, but sometimes you pay a different price when you are with a group. There are few economies of scale in St Barth. I'm not sure I would do the group thing again.
Well said Bob, memories everlasting so true!Hi Risa,
I have always been taught and practice myself; if you are treating, do not complain about the situation or cost. One puts themselves there when extending the invitation. I have not any regrets regarding St. Barth, we all know it is costly but very much worth it or we would not keep revisiting. Wonderful memories are created on St. Barth; money comes and goes but the memories are everlasting![]()
