Road Construction 2025

The road work is not completed and I think the target date is end of October. So you are likely to hit some road work, right now the road in Marigot is still closed (since April), with work in several places...

I arrive November 1st and hope it is completed prior to our arrival as we travel that road frequently. The improvements are certainly welcomed when completed!

Folks at the Collectivité who are in charge of the road work have told me that they expect the Marigot construction to be completed between mid-October / 1st of November. While it has been painful to endure, the good weather has allowed construction to progress farther than planned, & it now is almost to the turnoff road down to Le Sereno, Ti Corail, & Le Barthélemy — good news for these places. The new roads, sidewalks, & stone walls — insofar as I’ve seen them from Villa CEC — are very attractive . . . my only concern is that the road improvement will facilitate faster traffic. St. Barths doesn’t need that, IMO.

Thanks for all the updates. We were there in June and the routing was fine. Just have to remember there is a stop sign at the top of the hill in Vitet. The foliage was blocking it.

right now there are two red lights on the road from Marigot to Viitet, one at the bottom just past the intersection, and one about half way up the hill.. a truck had to back up quite a bit last night to let cars go by... it can be tricky but hopefully next year they won't close the road in both directions for over six months !

thanks. That corner can be a little tricky for turning in or out. So maybe the light will help in the interim.

Good question. I don’t remember where I found the 2025 map, but it was probably on either the Collectivité website or their FB page. If I see a 2026 map then I will post it here.

I don't think the roads are different on a map, just "improved" - and not to worry about the rallye race - there are hidden curves (Marigot) and endless speed bumps to slow people down !
