Maryella, weather? In a couple of weeks? You think anyone knows? Weather happens. Weather matters. It is what it is. I step out on the deck in the morning and take it from there. Nothing weatherwise is certain. I still believe in sunrise and sunset, and then whatever gets thrown at us is how we play the day. Showers most nights at bedtime. Sometimes during dinner, or enjoying lunch or while strolling in Gustavia. You are still here! ENJOY!

Thanks for the tips. We actually are island veterans and have stayed in villas many times, and will again on this trip. We decided to do five nights on the Rock to see if we like it as a change of pace from the villa life -- this November we'll get to sample both!

As will this guy! I always kept him color coordinated for Carnaval!

Watch Le News. Friday before should be the kid’s parade. Sunday is La Pointe en Mouvement drumming around Gustavia. Tuesday at 2:30 the parade - book a table at Le Repair with the gang! Wednesday King Vaval burning starts around 17h30.

Then all you Philadelphia people can gather together and hopefully watch our Eagles in the Super Bowl

I have done this several times. We have done bring seats and rent seats. You can check the seats free which is nice but it adds to the headache. I recommend renting when you can and getting everything you need from the villa rental company or similar. But, brig a monitor you prefer with an adapter. In the past they gave us a sound only. Also, sounds weird but if your grand children have any specific food they cannot live without bring it. My son used to only love a certain yogurt pouch and one year we didn't bring them... it didn't go well. I bought every yogurt known to man in the market.

I stayed at Hotel St Jean which was a block or two away but I did look at Eden Rock & ran into Bill & Melinda Gates on the beach. I talked with Melinda for a few minutes as I'm also from Seattle & was shocked as they were the first people I ran into there. She told me they always stay at Eden Rock & St Bart's was their favorite vacation spot. It's an awesome location but you pay the price for it. A block or two away & the rates are significantly lower. Look at Wimco Villas website, there's tons of very cool villas you can rent. Also low season starts in April & all rates on the island drop considerably. Weather in April has always been very good when I've been there. Love the island.

The thing that PVI can offer is a plane ride over with the luggage handled separately, if needed.

We just returned from St. Barths a couple weeks ago. We had a 7-month-old grandchild. We utilized stbarthprovider.com Everything was very nice, they delivered to the Villa and picked up at the end. Odile at Gumbs provided us graciously with a nice car seat at no additional cost to our rental.
