Excellent review and corresponding photos. Love Bananiers and look forward to dining there in January. Your post brings me back to Amy and Phil’s dining reviews that I used to follow religiously in the weeks leading up to each visit. I recall your trip report from a prior visit as excellent as well. If your schedule permits, keep it coming as I’m confident your reporting is appreciated by others as well!

From Le Journal ONE DEATH AND 41 ACTIVE CASES OF COVID IN SAINT-BARTH by V.A 30/11/2020 The prefecture published a new health bulletin on Monday, November 30, concerning the situation of the Covid epidemic in Saint-Barth for the week of November 16 to 22. A first death is to be deplored among the residents of our island. The authorities do not give details of the person concerned, whether he or she was considered "at risk" or not. According to our information, it is indeed the chef who died in mid-November. However, questioned on November 18, the ARS Guadeloupe had certified that they had not recorded any deaths from Covid in Saint-Barth. In addition, according to the prefecture bulletin, the island has 41 active cases of Covid-19 as of today. From the week of 16 to...

Attached below is the November 16 - November 22 update from ARS Guadeloupe. It shows a cumulative total of 147 cases on St Barth, +20 from the previous ARS report, although the accompanying text states that there are 14 new cases among residents. The report also lists, for the first time, the death of a resident. There is also a reminder that Dengue is still present. The following text, translated by Google, accompanied the update: Case details Saint Martin: for the week of November 16 to 22, 2020 (week 47), there are 26 new cases in Saint-Martin. Taking into account the consolidated data from the previous weeks, this brings to 717 the number of cumulative cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR test.

Hi! I was wondering what others' experience has been in terms of getting approval from SXM after you completed the ETAS form? I think one poster said 8 hours, but another poster said 15 minutes. Bonus question: every other time I went if I had a printed boarding pass and only carry on luggage I could quickly pass through via transit in 15 min (10 min before Irma) vs. the long line of people with checkin luggage and/or no printed boarding pass. Now that the health forms are needed is there only one line for everybody? Thanks!!!

Sign me up once it's ready. My cousin was a part of the Pfizer trial. Who knows if she received the vaccine or the placebo but she didn't have an issue with side effects. I'm not a smart man, but my guess is the side effects are much less than the effects of getting the virus and will protect not only yourself but everyone you come into contact with as well...:peace-sign1:

The CDC has added level 4 to its travel advisory list and apparently NY hasn't figured it out yet and still states you must quarantine from a level 2 or 3 Country (no mention of level 4) - on a technicality level 4 is ok since it isn't addressed??? :thinking1: Obviously not as per the spirit of the rule, but legally... Sooooo...once they figure it out, let's see what happens. St Barth is level 2. Level 2 out of 3 required a quarantine. I guess it's most likely that level 2 out of 4 still will and obviously level 3 and level 4 will, but we will have to wait until they catch up to be sure about level 2 Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced new guidelines allowing travelers to New York to “test out” of the mandatory 14-day quarantine. Travelers from states that are contiguous...

Agree, Ellen . . . Lindy’s work is beautiful — we have a number of her pieces, including this lovely, small, covered Raku bowl with a bamboo handle for the cover.

Izzy, You work so hard to present the facts of this very hard reality. Only those that care to examine the reality will understand. Still, a noble undertaking.

One can only hope that the information campaign that will accompany vaccine rollout in the US and France is not spearheaded by cartoon characters, who seem to have missed the news that both countries have already recorded about four times as many deaths as the percentage in the meme would suggest. I am not sure it is the characters who missed the news though - this clip raises the possibility the percentage was separately created for the meme (I am not a South Park follower so can't be the arbiter of that). Here is an incentive from a different time: This was part of a a campaign encouraging use of vaccine about which significant safety concerns had been raised and which required 3 doses over 7 months. The campaign enlisted an idol to set an example:

I echo the above having just passed through SXM last night on our way home. We arrived Sat 11/21 and arrival was fairly quick and easy. Filling out the required health forms for all 4 of us the day before felt more time consuming than transit in through Juliana! On the way out, allow a bit more time though we actually processed through--from leaving SBH to sitting at the bar in Juliana--in less than an hour, closer to 45 minutes. You have to fill out health forms again the day before departure. Since in transit and they already have upload of test results from your arrival, you fill out the form online and show either a print out or your email confirm on phone at a separate desk just after immigration. After luggage pick up and check in for main flight, security line wasn't long, nor was...

Another part of the plan is seeing son John at home! We have been seeing him at a distance and outside. Starting to get chilly out on his porch! We have also accumulated quite a number of IOU-dinners. Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and this weekend his 47th birthday! Hopefully he and his DSPs will be among the first to receive the vaccine.
