We have been enjoying American Rust on Showtime. It stars Jeff Daniels and is adapted from a 2009 novel with the same title.

I was in France recently and showed them my US vaccination card and they were ok with it… I would use a easy to find app as Erik recommended though. Will try soon.

No, it was the one visit. We have at least two frogs playing in our pool, however. Then bunnies, chipmunks and squirrels visit too. We appplies for national wildlife refuge status.

I have a New York State Covid Excelsior pass on my phone which includes all of my vaccination information, QR code, etc. I wonder if this would be accepted in SBH or in EU?

Actually, after some web search, it seems that there is a way to apply for a French COVID certificate (pass sanitaire) if you were vaccinated abroad (and outside the EU). Here is the link with the full explanation (official French Government website): https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/coming-to-france/coronavirus-advice-for-foreign-nationals-in-france/coronavirus-statements/article/applying-for-a-covid-certificate-if-you-were-vaccinated-abroad-procedure-for Here is the link for the application: https://www.demarches-simplifiees.fr/users/sign_up Has someone tried? Would be useful to know for the thousands of foreigners planning to visit SBH in the coming months...

In St Barth there are many US visitors, so most local businesses will have an idea of what the CDC card looks like and accept it as a health pass (although, in theory, this is not the right document). This won't work in France though, where people are not familiar with the CDC card format. Most restaurants use a specific app to scan the QR code which is printed on the "official COVID Certificates" (COVID Certificate or Health Pass or Passe Sanitaire in French can be: vaccination document issued by the vaccination centers, PCR test document issued by the labs or antigenic test documents issued by the pharmacies). This app is called TAC Verif: Apple store link: https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/tousanticovid-verif/id1562303493 (not sure if it is available to Apple markets outside the EU?)....

The government will never back down on the vaccination mandate. Instead they'll send more health care workers from France, as they have done already a few weeks ago: https://actu.fr/ile-de-france/paris_75056/covid-19-des-dizaines-de-soignants-de-paris-envoyes-en-martinique-et-en-guadeloupe_44108210.html The health care workers refusing the vaccination will eventually lose their jobs. It's already happening in some hospitals in France where more than 3000 health professionals have been suspended. For most, it will be a temporary situation, according to Olivier Véran (Minister of Health). The vaccination rate (fully vaccinated, > 12 years old) reached 82% nation wide, and 89% amongst the health care workers. Obviously the situation in the overseas territories is not quite the same...

Diana, I just read an article concerning the university hospital in Guadeloupe. Almost 75% of its employees decline to be injected. The director of the hospital considers it impossible to enforce the vaccination mandate, which took effect Wednesday, and keep the hospital operational. the government is going to have to back down.

That's because the glide path is above standard. This is what makes it so special and spectacular. St Barth approach isn't your usual 3-degree glide slope, hence the feeling of being "high" on the approach to runway 10. The airplane needs to clear the obstacle (tourmente hill) prior to landing. Once the obstacle is cleared, it's a nose dive to the runway. It is the same procedure for all airplanes landing here. PC12 or Twin-Otter or Cessna Caravan. Pilot technique has little input on the landing show, despite the different types of aircraft. The rest is perception.

Something resembling a trailer park in St. Barts. At least there will be a parking garage where the beach used to be in St. Jean for the cars. I miss the Vieux St Barts.

wrong andy...as masks are not required for being outdoors here, so I am sure most people in the pics will not be wearing a mask. most people that I know don't have a problem putting a mask on to go into a business if that is what the business requires. I myself am very respectful of the mask rule. its not my business, so its not my rules, its their rules. however outside, I don't wear a mask, and I rarely see anyone else that wears a mask outside.

actually a lot of the people have been vaccinated that are going to be in this crowd protesting. they support the people who don't wish to be vaccinated especially our health care workers. most of the people that I know who have been vaxxed said nobody should be forced to be vaxxed. they said they got the vaccine because they wanted it. So if you see pics of all the people in the paper at this demonstration, don't assume they are all unvaxxed. by the way, just because someone is anti covid vaccines, does not also make them anti mask...wrong assumption.
