Wow...stunning pieces in this show. And, a LOT! This show feels like it may have lasted longer than others. Maybe I'm being sentimental, but I really like it when they finish en blanc. Great job, Big Guy. Thank you for taking us along with you.

Real ID application documents can be submitted online, DHS says By Luz Lazo Feb. 20, 2020 at 6:20 p.m. EST The Department of Homeland Security will allow states to accept documents for Real ID applications electronically, streamlining the process for millions of Americans to obtain the credential that come fall will be needed to pass through airport security checkpoints. Allowing applicants to submit the necessary paperwork online will help expedite service at departments of motor vehicles across the country, officials said. Many state agencies are experiencing long lines and wait times as they scramble to issue new driver’s licenses and ID cards that conform with the federal law that tightens security requirements for state-issued identification.

My understanding is that if you've been exposed to one of the serotypes, you will indeed have immunity to that particular strain, but are at more risk to develop a serious illness if you are exposed to one of the others. At least that's what the doctors told my daughter six years ago when she had dengue. She carries her lab results when she travels to areas where dengue is present - in the event she feels symptoms, she's been advised to seek medical attention immediately. In Illinois, the wait seems to average about three hours. Unfortunately in our family of five, we all have expiring licenses, so we've decided to bite the bullet and put up with the lines. We all have GE cards, but will get the Real ID as well so we don't have to carry both cards to travel. Son's wait during a college/holiday break was 3.5 hours arriving at DMV opening, husband's was 2.75 hours with mid-afternoon arrival, my poor 85 yo mother waited 4 hours and then had to return because the "system" was down (and couldn't take the photo), our daughters and I have yet to go but will get the Real ID since we have to renew anyway.

yes can't wait to have a cocktail there soon, but they won't have their "Grand Opening" until June. I think they want all of the outside finished first.

SBP announced the opening date as 3/14 here: https://pegs-blog.stbarth.com/ As our first visit was in 2011 we have never been to the property (we never went on our first visit) only driven by it.

Luckily the body developes an immunity after you have dengue ..according to island’s Dr Giles This kicks in after your second bout with dengue. Most St Barths are immune by now. The tourists and visitors not so lucky.

we have a similar scenario...Our arrival time on our AA flight from Charlotte to SXM was moved back to the point that it meant making the connection to SBH somewhat dicey (especially if the AA flight arrival was delayed). We did not want to spend a night in SXM so we looked at the AA flights from various locations and we were able to re-route thru Philly giving us an arrival time of approximately 1:25 pm into SXM. FYI...If you choose to make a change you may have to do stay overnight in the someplace like Philly....please note that the airline will not charge you for this layover as long as the layover is less than 24 hours...

Right, Marignon. Old memories can be imprecise. I have no photos of the Non-Stop. When she went down, she went down quickly, never to see the surface again.

Many healthy people catch the disease, some more than once as there are 4-5 serotypes of Dengue, and recover. We all know people on the island who have had Dengue at least once, and are fine today.

Sorry to read this. It is usually older or very young people that are compromised and an illness like Dengue can not be overcome.

We use Premium IV VIP service. If you land on time or even a little late, they will get you on the 5 pm flight to SBH. If you end up delayed arriving in SXM after dark, they will find you a nice place to stay and have you on the early flight the next morning. It’s worth the $ to not have to stress about it.

So Sad, we were hoping to be there while we are there until the 6th. My wife even had planned for me to walk down from there (bad leg) for the cannival since there is no auto traffic during the event. It has such a gorgeous view.

according to sources on the island, the hotel will open around the middle of march. the restaurant Fouquets will open at the same time, if its anything like the restaurant in Paris, should be a nice treat. The hotel is finished inside completely, but there is still outside work to be done. I miss the old hotel, but I am looking forward to the new place.

My wife and I are traveling from Austin, Texas to St. Barth's in June. We fly American Airlines since we have all kinds of privileges and priorities with them, so a different airline is not an option. When I booked the trip last fall, I was thrilled to see that AA had a flight from Austin to SXM that arrived at 1:57 PM which gave us plenty of time to hop on a Winair flight that day to finish our journey and make the entire trip in one day. AA has changed our flight such that it now arrives at SXM at 3:25 PM which cuts it close to make the last Winair flight out at about 5:00 PM. I looked at all airline arrivals into SXM and see that almost all of them from the U.S. arrive mid to late afternoon. If that is the case, what are you folks doing to be sure you make it on to St. Barth's that...

The lines here in Chicago have been crazy for a few months now, and I suspect will only get worse as October approaches. For now, will be using my Passport Card and/or my Global Entry card until the lines get better.
