Question for everyone. I understand SXM won’t require a COVID test on departure but what about st barths if you are staying 7 nights/8days? Example: if you arrive on the 12th and leave the 19th you are staying longer than 7 days technically but you are leaving on the 8th day which is the day the test would be required to be taken and leaving before the testing facility is even open.

. . . returned yesterday (Wednesday) after a very early wakeup in Jacksonville. Sleeping all the way to Atlanta . . . then most of the way to SJU . . . and even en route with Tradewind to St. Barths! It’s getting dark here quite early, it seems . . . so trip from the airport to the Villa was at dusk. Lights coming on everywhere . . . an enchanting & welcoming arrival scene. A brief swim . . . then to early dinner at L’Esprit. Still feeling a bit tired, I opt’d for a taxi to / from the restaurant— David Bardon (0-690-06 66 66). Beautiful car . . . very nice guy, whom I’ve known a long time . . . and quick service. (Thank you Premium IV for arranging!) Jean Claude at L’Esprit has covered a small, undistinguished garden, formerly adjacent to the bar, with an elegantly simple deck...

this is my last post on this covid test. from what I gather, what started this whole thing was that someone who wanted to purchase one of the test kits called into covid consultants and read the info about a nasal swab test on the tradewind website to one of the associates at covid consultants, they way it was worded made it seem like it was a different test than what is actually required in st. barths or what covid consultants was selling. that is why Andrea reached out to tradewind and suggested that they change the wording so it would not be confusing. The test that covid consultants sell is the test that is accepted in st. barths. I am now officially done with answering anything else. My test results were accepted as were others. I would suggest that anyone who...

Most Countries have an official website that shows the exact testing requirements. Does St Barth have this? I haven't seen it but this seems to be the main problem. Everyone is quoting what the airlines and villa rental agencies state, but there should be something official out there

Jim, you are correct with the CDC List. However, New York has been enforcing the list that is on their website since September and not the updated CDC List for international travel. That may change within a few days.

I hope you are right, but I'm pretty sure that is because it's not a State or US territory. That is the list you hear about every Tuesday. The "International" list that is shown on the NYS website seems to be frozen since the first day it was first published at 31 Countries and is not updated by NYS every Tuesday, it simply mirrors CDC list and it clearly states all level 2 and level 3 risk Countries on the CDC list require a quarantine. Here is the executive order: https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/no-2051-quarantine-restrictions-travelers-arriving-new-york

KAJ, I may have read it wrong, but it sounded like the call/email that you had received was initiated by (someone from) Covid Consultants to let you know that 2 people were not able to use the home tests as opposed to initiated by you as to whether or not the test would be accepted? And, acp, it sounded like you were informed by (someone from) Covid Consultants their test will no longer be accepted by St. Barth’s, asked you to return the kit, and referred you to a place in San Francisco? I guess I just didn't pick up where the testing problems posted rested with the descriptions on the Tradewinds site? It sure would be bad to do the tests, arrive on SBH, and encounter some sort of problem, if someone else already has, and that was what triggered CC's communications to some...

Here's how Le Journal reported the disagreement on stats, translation by Google: Covid: the Collectivity corrects the prefecture figures 22/10/2020 Between the ARS, Public Health France, the prefecture and the Collectivity, the figures are traveling ... According to the Collectivity, the system for counting the number of Covid cases is distorted by the SI-DEP system used by the health authorities. She then went out of her way, and this Thursday, October 22, published all the figures from the Bio Pôle laboratory, the only one to carry out screening on the island, since April. The table does not mention ten cases discovered between October 12 and 18, as the prefecture announced yesterday, but five. The Collectivity specifies that five other cases were detected between Monday 19...

The Collectivity has corrected the most recent ARS report and states there were only 5 news cases last week, three of which are arriving seasonal workers. what could possibly go wrong?

I just spoke on the phone with Andrea, everything is cleared up now if anyone wishes to email her or to call her, she is in her office right now. 303-945-0181. Andrea informed me that she has reached out to tradewind airlines and they told her they would remove the wording for the nasal test from their web site as the wording was not accurate for sbh. The nasal test that covid consultants is selling will be accepted in sbh. Andrea said she would spend some time tomorrow getting in touch with the people that had wanted the test but were afraid it would not be accepted. I hope this new information will ease the minds of anyone thinking of ordering a nasal swab test from covid consultants.

I still have two Airport photos left, from the new print run. Everything else should still be available. I also have some hand-painted B&W's in various states of finish. Here's a personal favorite:

I think the question is more likely to be related to nasopharyngeal vs. deep nasal swab technique. See post 19 in the original consultants thread.

I do wonder if those two people were confusing things. Covid Consultants sell both nasal swab and spit tests; the former is what St. Barth's requires. People should be fine with the nasal RT-PCR test.

Trying to figure it out. Lots of moving pieces, and, as one wise person here posited, it also comes down to one's risk level tolerance, etc.

We are in San Juan...no problems. They did check our covid paperwork before we were leaving the airport terminal here. They also checked at registration here at the intercontinental...about 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. Mask wearing and social distancing protocols were in effect in NY and San Juan. Every aspect of travel seemed understaffed.

Hi Deb, still waiting to hear back from covid consultants. will put their reply on here when I receive it. Andrea works at Covid Consultants, not sure what position she holds. Its only 12:47 p.m. in colorado right now, so I am sure they are busy with other work. Are you planning on coming to the island soon?

If I am understanding correctly, there are now two people here who have recently been informed, by someone from Covid Consultants, that there is a possibility that the "at home" test they offer may no longer be accepted on SBH? Again, if I am reading correctly, there also was a third person, who may or may not be on the forum, who had asked for a refund from CC because of his or her understanding that the test may no longer be accepted on SBH? Diana, the Andrea with whom you are speaking, is the owner?
