Wife, daughter and I had one of the best meals of the week there last August. Beautiful stark white interior, good service and excellent food. Only dish I remember was a baked scallop dish that was like a chicken pot pie but with scallops. As I write this it doesn't sound that good, but it sure was good when I was eating it!

I tried the gourmet tasting menu last November. Excellent. But I do wonder about their Cabaret Night.

When we were there in August there were very few people in the restaurant. May have been because of the time -- I think we probably had a 7 p.m. reservation -- and things just hadn't gotten started or could have been that it was the first week in August. At any rate, there were only two other tables eating dinner. As we sat there, a few twenty-something looking people came in and began to congregate in the bar area. I got the feeling that it might get a little loud as the evening wore on, but have no evidence of it.

We went there when it first opened several years ago. Skipped several years and tried it again this past Feb. As I recall, I had a seafood cassoulet and it was very good. Love the white decor. Both times we were there it wasn't crowded. I think it would be interesting to check out the cabaret if they still have it next Feb.

We went in February-it was pretty empty then too
Wasn't terrible, but nothing special. With so many other choices, not sure we'd go back again. The staff were nice, but no"buzz. to the place

You and Pat have to make your own buzz.

We went for Caberet night. It was fun. The show starts around 9:45--10:00 p.m. & lasts about an hour, so plan on a 9 p.m. or so dinner. They had two "prix fixe" menus plus specials--similar arrangement to K'fe Massai but slightly more expensive. You could mix your selections. The food was very good. My husband had a pork curry & I had lamb brochettes. We both had goat cheese salads & wonderful dessserts. The night we were there the place was packed with locals & vacationers.

The caberet is reminiscent of the show from years ago at La Banane--a slightly risque French caberet---singing, dancing, mimes, men dressed as women. Some of the waiters also appeared in the show. People were laughing & sharing reactions between tables. A very convivial scene.

Mick Proust (who also owns K'fe Massai) & Delphine (who runs Zanzibarth) are determined to make Zanzibarth a "must visit" place. Parking can be an issue but Mick told us that they may have valet parking in the busy season to solve that problem. We'll definitely go back.

We haven't gone because we've been turned off by the flowing water that generally seems to be flowing in the street out front and associated sewer-like odor. Does that waft into the restaurant?

We've gone there every year since it opened. It's up a flight of stairs from the road. Never noticed an odor.
