Are you guys aware that the Mayor and 25 asorted Hotel & Restaurant people are coming to NYC 2/17 & 2/18 to promote SBH to about 250 travel agents? They are also hosting a luncheon for the Press at Jean-Georges.Now the question is,if business is so great in SBH what are they doing here? Well anyway keep that in mind when making reservations and ask for a discount. You will be surprised at what is being offered at various hotels with just a little prodding. Two e mails to a popular SBH Hotel resulted in a 20% discount for some friends, high season. Nick

Nick, If you don't mind my asking, where are your friends staying? I've tried e-mailing hotels in the past and have never had any luck getting any deals.

Hi Cheri, I would rather not say. But I will tell you that when I inquired the first time for them I was e mailed there standard rate card.I emailed the hotel back and asked "is that the best you can do". Their reply was to offer me 10% discount.I simply told them to try again. They came back with a 20% discount. Not bad for a few emails Nick

They wanted me to come to NY as well Nick, but I got better ways than spending my vacation talking about business. If I go to NYC its to stay at your place and drink Martinis by the pool. (I'll come in the summer)

I first met Mr and Mrs Nick when I was a receptionist at the Tropical back in 1987 or thereabouts. He was a mere puppy then.
