I just heard that Vail has closed the back bowls for the season. Too much melt for so early. Guess it's about over in our part of the world.

its bad I tell ya....never seen anything like it out here....this is usually the heaviest snow month of the year...I had to go to Denver today and it was in the 70's and I was in shorts and Tevas....came back up to high country and it was a little cooler, but not by much..we still have a a lot of snow on our trails above 10 thousand feet, but if we dont get into a more wintery pattern soon, this is going to be an early out...meanwhile in New England they are ass deep in it....go figure..I'll see you soon and we can cry over a beer about it...LOL

It started a mix of rain and snow in Beaver Creek about noon. We drove over to Vail and by the time we drove back about 2:00 it was all rain. Did that most of the afternoon. I can't even imagine how bad it is up on the mountain!

What is this "global warming" of which you speak? Don't you know there is no global warming?

They are reporting 10" of snow on Vail Mountain and 3" at BC. From what I saw it was awfully wet snow, i.e., rain. Whatever, it was 36 F. at the base of BC this morning at 7 a.m., so if you're going to get out there this year you had better hurry.
