We've been going to these spots since before we were married in 1980, (and me alone since 1972) and have freeloaded off of friends there for the whole time. Far from being offended, they made me their son's godfather.
Anyone else from these boards familiar with the area?

I'll be up there this weekend.

Tim

Didi and I spent a very nice few days in Little Compton, RI and Westport MA this past weekend. We'd recommend the Stone House Club in Little Compton for lodging, the Back Eddy in Westport for dinner, and the First Congregational Church in Little Compton for worship -- that's where our friends' daughter was confirmed.
The Back Eddy is now run by Sal, its former assistant chef. I told him that they are now famous because they were mentioned on this website awhile back.
The dad of our confirmant is the harbor master in Westport, so the Back Eddy, which sits in the harbor, is home to him. And the mom, my best friend from college, runs a treatment/rehab/healthcare facility in Fall River that had just pushed a needle exchange program through in Westport, only to draw a huge firestorm from the town, followed by a reconsideration, rejection and a firm resolution never to consider the topic again. The town then even voted down the wetlands initiative sponsored by dad the harbor master because of guilt by association. We went around using assumed names all weekend. We also proposed to start a new, highly exclusive club in Westport: Republicans for Needle Exchange. Hasn't quite caught on yet but we're hopeful.

The weather was terrible but since it wasn't SBH it was ok.
