I hope no one meant to accuse the poster of lieing - I certainly did not. And yes, we certainly can discuss things freely here (perhaps too freely, our greatest strength and downfall - LOL).

A rental house will often have critters that a family home doesn't have. We learned the hard way that if we left our breads and other things out (in proper paper wrapping) at night, Monsieur Le Chat would dine on our ticket during the wee hours.

Now we put pretty much any food item that is not hermetically sealed in the fridge and that cuts down on Night Visitors.

As to bugs, if people leave food and junk around, yes, bugs will multiply. No doubt. As such, when it comes to bugs, there are probably more messy renters than there are messy villa-owners. And last month's messy renters makes for this month's buggy villa. So you people clean up for crying out loud!

As an aside, and a word of advice for any Newby who wants to ask a question but is afraid to do so. NEVER be afraid to ask legit questions such as this one. Within three or four posts, you will almost always have a satisfactory answer. After that, well, ignore after that.

LOL.

I am a wild mushroom picker from way back and they all have bugs/worms in them and you have to do a fast wash to get them out- has nothing to do with the dirt and it doesn't take the taste out of them. The ones you buy in the store are all sterile.

BTW- unless Villa Shell Beach grows mushrooms, I think we are far afoot.

Any of you mushroom-pickers using Night Soil to help your gardens?

Memo to self: Eat only store-bought.
