If you like K'fe Massai, you'll like Zanzibarth. The chef from the old Vincent Adam is cooking here and Mick Proulx and his partner have a hit on there hands. Still not very busy but busier than I've seen this place in the last 3 or so years. Excellent Menu. On site owners make a huge difference.

We loved Zanzibarth as well, if we had stayed on the island one evening longer, that would have been the next restaurant to visit again. One of our "must-visit" restaurants for future trips, together with e.g. Wallhouse and K'fe Massai.

Good points Bill. I've been meaning to write a few words on Zanzibarth for some time now.
Last November, while dining at K'fe Massai, we had an opportunity to see the Zanzibarth menu. The menu looked great, and we resolved to give Zanzibarth a try.
It has been a long time since I've been to a restaurant in Zanzibarth's location. I was there once or twice when it was Le Colonial, but never at all under the previous Zanzibarth ownership. I had forgotten that the parking is limited if you follow the sign pointing up the hill to Zanzibarth. What may work better is to park by the Christine Celle Boutique or Le Glacier, and walk up the stone steps between the two shops.
As was mentioned, Mic Proust (K'fe Massai) is one of the new owners. The face of the operation at Zanzibarth is Delphine, who many will remember from her years at Eddy's. The chef is Pierre Poinsignon, formerly of Vincent Adam, and I recognized several items from the old Vincent Adam menu.
We had both pretty much decided on what we wanted for dinner, and then I turned the menu over and was faced with the €75 Degustation Menu. A light lunch that day encouraged us to give it a try, despite the seven courses. The degustation menu started with an Asparagus Veloute with Truffles, and went on to include a cold Lobster Lasagna, a millefeuille of Foie Grass and potato slices, Mahi Mahi cooked on the plate with Pomme D'Amour sauce, Duck Breast Roulé with Bacon and Juniper, Coconut Blanc Manger with Strawberry Sauce, and the Grand Marnier Soufflé that I remembered from Vincent Adam.
The winelist was obviously influenced by Mic Proust, and shares some bottles with the K'fe Massai winelist. Some of the waitstaff are people that I remember from K'fe Massai, and some are new to me. Overall, it was a very nice evening.
I'm glad that we tried the degustation menu, and we both enjoyed it, but with seven courses I feared that we would run out of room before the final dessert. On our next visit, and there will be a next visit, perhaps I can content myself with ordering from the regular menu. I definitely want to try the Mahi Mahi "cuite sur l'assiette, sauce pomme d'amour" again. The Mahi Mahi is on the regular menu too, as are many if not all of the items on the degustation menu.

So many places, so little time. We are bringing daughter and her intended along for a week of our two weeks in February and it is a chore to sort out all the "musts" for dining. What a problem to have :-)

Jean, have you had any Bertrand DANTEC's homemade yogurt? If you haven't, ask for some to be brought that nite. It is unbelievable!

PS~Never a frequent client, but I did like the old Zanzibarth & their menu, and excellent service. BUT I totally agree with all having been to the new Z two times recently. Very, very good...Kevin, the regular menu is excellent.

There was one thing that I learned from Tolkien's Fellowship of the Ring - the concept of Second Breakfast. Why not apply it to dinner?
Is Eddy's open on Sunday nights? I don't remember which night he closes, and it isn't listed on my resto list.

I haven't even mentioned all the technology I plan on taking with me. Nothing like conference calls and BlackBerry email sitting on 30E chair feet from the surf at Nikki Beach. Ah, vacation!
