LMAO...correct on 2 1/2 out of 3....

no way can it be Antigua and Barbuba....your line of sight to the horizon on the water is roughly 20-30 miles depending on a lot of things, not the least of which is how high both you and the object are above sea level....both those islands are much further away then that

Hmm, 80 replies but not many words of affection for one of my favorite beaches? I have to do something about that!

Reasons to love Grand Cul de Sac:

The view: an ever changing variety and shades of blue & turquise
The sound: the soothing murmur of waves rippling in over the reef
The calm water: for floating, for kids, for play
The shallow water: for kids, for wading
The restaurants: lunch with feet in sand or drink by the water
The reef: for the explorers

And if you're not satisfied with swimming, sunning, floating, wading - add wind, sail, hull, motor or whatever and you should be entertained for hours.

What will become of Grand Cul de Sac in 2007 - I have no idea and don't care to speculate on this thread. During demolition of St Barth Beach hotel and construction of whatever comes, the peacefulness of the bay will be disturbed. But that will pass and bathers & surfers return :)

Unfortunatly I don't have my pictures availble, but have borrowed these to show you some perspectives of GCdS:

K,

Nice photos. Grand cul de Sac now deserves a full check . Since I've spent a lot of time in Gd cul de Sac trying to windsurf, I can definitely appreciate your comments.

exquisite shot of Toiny....on a clear day, Saba?, Statia?, StKitts? in the background...breathtaking.

Wrong side of the island. Barbuda and Antigua.

Thanks ashtangi for the beautiful compliment on my Toiny pic! You are right on the islands on the horizon, Dear.
