Bermuda vs. Fabian new

We have just returned from several days vacation on the South Shore near Elbow Beach. I can say one thing, in the battle between Bermuda and Fabian, Fabian scored a KO in the first round.

Pretty much anything that faced the water was washed away. Several restaurants are gone. The Soneta and Southhampton Princess hotels are closed for several months at least.

The airport departure terminal has been torn apart. The causeway that links the two halves of the island was
destroyed. A makeshift causeway is in place, but the waits to cross to the airport can be up to one hour. It is closed at night and when the winds gust over 30 MPH.

It is still a great place and it will come back slowly, but the devastation will be evident for many years.

Kit ! Thanks for the heads-up. I've have a tentative business trip to Bermuda coming up. Its not a "must", so I think I'll put it on the back burner for a bit.
