Mike, you all should go to Chester on Commercial street. It is a bit pricey but at least you can say hi to large marge!

And I must say, this past weekend was the best for the cape so far this summer. We hit Fri-Wed and it was perfect. So far it has been a tough go weather wise. What is the name of your boat by the way? I was checking out some fishing charters and was wondering which one was you.

yeah the weather has been fantastic.....we are not a charter boat....charters are for 6 people or less..we are a 50 passenger open boat.....and its the CJ Fishing Tours
I like Chesters...dont love it..but like it...very pricey. for my money, the best higher end meal is at Front Street...

We'll be in P-town on both Friday 8/4 and Saturday 8/5. Either night is fine with us - we just need to know which one, so we can make a dinner reservation someplace else for the other night.
As far as Front St. vs. Bubalas goes, I've only been to Bubalas. Looking at the online menus, Bubalas seems to have more seafood, which appeals to me more than the menu from Front St does. I prefer Bubala's, but I could do either.

ok..well...lets do Bubalas then...makes no difference to me as I go to both places a lot.....Wendi will be here on Friday night but is leaving crack of dawn Saturday morning to open up one of the shops in NH, so Friday is better for her....I'll make reservations for 800....I have to work that day and I get in at 530....Im figuring the boat will be cleaned and ready to take you guys on a little harbor cruise by 7...then I'll need a quick shower, and we'll be good to go for dinner
LLoyd???.....what are your thoughts?

You and I just spoke by phone.As you know, our computer was down for over a week, and it was only now that I realized you sent this.
Pat and I are only leaving Ottawa on Friday Aug 4 mid -afternoon, so we won't even get to the Cape until around midnight Friday
We have made our plans around hoping to see everybody on Saturday night, and we'd really hate to miss everybody(and so would Ralph and Tina)We are , all 4 of us, really counting on it. Sorry to have missed this thread- just really glad I phoned you !!-Would everybody be OK if the cruise and dinner was back to Saturday again ?

Saturday is cool with us also. I have dinner reservations for Friday night that I hadn't gotten around to cancelling yet, so if Saturday works for everyone else then I'll leave them in place and plan on the group dinner on Saturday. Who else do we need to check with?

my cell phone is my modem when I'm online so I wont get the voice mail til I go offline....but here goes
630 boat cruise...MacMillan Wharf....the boat is on the second finger pier on the right and its the only fishing boat on the wharf, so you cant miss it...CeeJay Fishing Tours.....8 oclock dinner reservations at Bubalas.....thats pretty much it
dont remember who has the extra parking pass....its either with KevinS or my buddy from Rhode Island who I am actually seeing today...I might have left it in Colorado but it really is no big deal as everyone has been getting them in town here for the show...they are very easy to get if you call Tweeter Center...I'll check it out today and see where the extra one is floating around

This sounds great--just one thing--I am a little confused on the parking. I know there is the Pan Mass challenge (sp?) on, so if someone can just tell us where to park, that would be great--and where that might be in location to the dock--thanks!

there are two piers on the waterfront, right next to one another, there is a huge hourly ( 2.50 an hour ) parking lot at the foot of Macmilliam Wharf....and there is set price parking ( 10 bucks) right on Fishermans Wharf....

well we have a beautiful forecast for the weekend.....by some miracle we have a babysitter for Saturday night...so everything seems to be in place....630 to 7 oclock boat ride...800 dinner....let me know if you cannot make either...I have 3 trips today so I wont read my messages until late tonight....otherwise...see you all tomorrow....dress is definetly casual for all activities....KevinS, our dinner reservations for Sunday night are set for 8 oclock, it will be for the three of us as Wendi has to blow out of town crack of dawn Sunday morning

I was just checking the forecast myself. Weather.com and Wunderground.com, are in agreement today - Saturday's weather should be sunny, clear, with temps in the low to mid 70's (22C). It will be a nice night for a short cruise followed by dinner with friends.
It's time to load up the cooler and throw a few things in a bag. We'll be in Chatham for lunch, and then head on up to P-town.

what a wonderful night....incredible weather for the sunset harbor cruise...cold Caribs while watching the sun drop into the ocean...then another great dinner at Bubalas....it was good to see you all again...Wendi and I had a blast in what is far too few nights out for us without the baby in tow.... and even though we came back to a little mini party going on on the boat, with the babysitter and her friends ( all of whom I knew, as well as all their parents, so it wasnt a big deal...Wendi however wasnt so sure about it all....LOL ) while Lena was fast alseep, it was still worth it to go out as adults only for a change....looking forward to seeing you all in Part 2, Thursday evening, at the Buffett show and the madcaps and mayhem that will most
definetly transpire in the pre concert parking lot...get ready!

I think that a good time was had by all. The sunset cruise (with Carib's) was quite nice (thanks Mike) and accompanied by a geology lesson (OK class, point to the Terminal Moraine). It was nice to see Mike, Wendy, Lena, Lloyd, Pat, Ralph and Tina again. Bubula's delivered another great meal too.
My wife and I spent the weekend in P-town, returning home this morning. Perfect weather, mid 70's with a light breeze, made for pleasant mornings at the beach. Friday night we had dinner at The Mews, which may have included the best veal chop that I've ever had. Sunday night was dinner with Mike at Front Street, another great P-town restaurant. Dinner tonight was fresh sole that we picked up at Mike's boat on our way out of town this morning. Good fish Mike - we coated in panko bread crumbs, a few pecans, and baked it with a little lemon pepper and a few shallots. Thanks!
Anyone visting P-town can find a pretty decent Planteur at Vorelli's.
As Mike noted, everyone except Lena will get together for Phase II in the Great Woods parking lot on Thursday night.
Andy - The only thing that I might be smoking will be a store-bought cigar. If you're not careful (or maybe if you are) the other stuff will drift downwind to you.
Based on the Tinley Park Setlist from 8/5, there's a good chance that Pencil Thin Mustache will be heard.

A good time was had by everyone that I saw, but the downpours kept us from getting together with Lloyd, Pat, Ralph, and Tina. We did meet up with Mike and Wendy. Thanks for scoring the tickets Mike! I'll post more tomorrow when I'm no longer in violation of the 2-beer rule.

we had a blast..Lloyd and Pat had a blast..we ate like pigs and drank like fish in the limo....the rain was a bummer and we missed you guys for the tailgating....but Kevin, you and Kate were real troopers in the rain for sure.....the funniest thing at the show to me was when it was raining before the show and JB came out on stage before the show began and pranced around the stage with a hot pink umbrella to Gene Kelly doing "Singing in the Rain" over the sound system...classic!!!...only JB could come up with something to put a humorous spin on a bad situation .....and when that little girl in the audience put the "lets get milk and moo" sign up when JB was talking about gettin ready to play "Lets Get Drunk and Screw"..JB was floored by it all but he did a great job improvising in the situation.....how precious was that??!...and the "Here We Are" video was a very very nice touch.....its still the greatest show on earth for my money.... we didnt get back to P Towm til 245...ouch...I had an 830 sold out fishing trip this morning and Wendi left for NH at 630.....but what the heck...life is short....play hard

We did make it to Put-in-Bay !!
Left the Cape at 5:40 a.m.(!!!)Good thing we passed on your Mbola Rum in the limo on the way back to the Cape after the show !!!
Clear sailing all day-would have made the 8:15 ferry to South Bass Island if not for 1.5 hours stuck in construction south of Cleveland .Made the 9:00 pm boat with minutes to spare, but Marius had gone to bed
All told- 15 hours in the car(good think we have Sirius and "Radio Margaritaville" !)
Marius was totally surprised- we saw him at breakfast the next morning
Thanks again for you guys' wonderful hospitality- on the boat ride the Saturday night in PTown, and then all the food in the limo on the way to Great Woods

Kevin...you missed Lloyd and Pat because I dropped the ball big time on the whole parking thing....now that I know there is actually a difference between Premier parking and VIP parking...I will be all over it next year....
LLoyd...Jimmy next year??...without a doubt...we go every year so its pretty easy to make that promise...I almost went again on Saturday with the P Town gang but wisely passd on the offer...glad you arrived safely and passed on the rhum on the ride home in the limo....Wendi looked like s**t when she left the boat at 630 AM for NH...and my passengers had a horrified look on their face when they met their captain that morning...it looked a scene out of that movie "Captain Ron"....LOL....but they caught fish and so quickly got over it!
