Teton Powder
      #57826 - 03/01/06 03:48 PM

My son and I went to ski powder for a few days in the Tetons. It snowed 14 inches the day before we got in and, because we took a snowcat tour, we had lots of untracked powder. It's tough to keep up with the boy who is not only an excellent skier but a marathoner and he kicked my butt. My thighs were burning from so many powder turns but I was smiling all the time.

Good eyes, Miker. We rented K2 Outlaws for the occasion. They were not only fat but phat. So much easier to ride on top of the snow than in it! I'll be going to Snowbird in April and don't intend to bring my own skis then.

I have a veritable Rossignol museum of skiing in my basement. The early years consist of slalom and GS skis suitable for Vermont ice (4S, 7SK, STS). My last purchase in Colorado was a Viper 9.9 shaped ski which turns well on the groomers and is not bad in loose snow. After riding on that fat K2 off-road vehicle, I'm thinking I should just rent for the conditions on the mountain and stop schlepping equipment through airports.

OOOololololol

It's not really that bad. My current pair is a set of Rossi Equips from 1986 but Karen is after me to get a pair of the new shaped boards. I figure since I bought her a pretty nice bike for Xmas she might do me a new pair for my B-day in April.

Update to follow.

Gregg
