Restaurants & Money new

We are staying in St Martin for the 1st time in February, following our brief visit on way to St Barts last year. We are going with a group of friends and renting a villa on the French side near Orient. I have 2 questions:

1) Can anyone suggest a restaurant and bar/club for a night out as one of our party celebrates her 21st whilst there, we would like a decent meal and the option of a drink or two after, we were looking at Grand Case ??

2) As we are travelling from the UK, is it best for us to use US Dollars or the Euro, we took Euros to St Barts but I have read that some places match the dollar to the euro 1:1 in St Martin ??

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Go to L'Alabama in Grand Case. Great food, bar etc. After dinner you can go to any of the Restaurants on the water's side- they all have bars of varying degree altho I don't know which ones have music or entertainment but that would be obvious.
As to Dollars/Euros- the French side wants Euros but some places will give you 1/1- Le Balaou Restaurant for example- but not too many more. The Dutch side is more forgiving and will take dollars readily. If you want a good exchange rate there is a gas station- petrol- as you come into Grand Case from Marigot that is open 24/7 and has a ATM machine that I used last year. Very fair exchange.

In the Duchy of Normandy, are you living in the Bailiwick of Guernsey or the Bailiwick of Jersey? Perhaps Sark or Alderney, or Herm? I would appreciate it if you could possibly answer a geographical question I have regarding the Īles de la Manche/Channel Islands...
