It's 01:30 in the morning here on the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast as we wait on Dennis to do his thing. Now upgraded to Cat. 4 and, eerily reminescent of Ivan, headed right our way. When you're waiting on these things you just pray that it will hit a little east of you so you'll get the "gentle" side of the hurricane. We're anticipating 8-12 hours of 80+ mph winds, horizontal rains, and a storm surge in the 15 foot range--if we're lucky. Everybody who could evacuate has already gone. We couldn't leave our emergency room responsibilities to join the sane ones who evacuated. While I still had internet access, and power, I thought I'd just put this out there for you so you could throw a few prayers our way. Will keep you posted as we're able.

Stay safe! Hopefully it will move east, you are spared, and the ER will be quiet.

The two of you, as well as Martine & Janine, are always in our thoughts and prayers when tropical cyclones are headed your way.

I have just gotten off the phone with Roy. He has promised to call Martin and I as soon as he possibly can once Dennis goes by. I will let all know as soon as I hear from him, in case he has no internet and cannot post. Dennis passed by us last night on his way up to Roy and Dee Dee's. We took some wind, rain and everything else that is to be expected. Luckily for us, he was fairly far out into the gulf and all was well at home.

Someboy up there is sittin by his cell phone and listening to prayers! It's now 2:15 Sat afternoon and Dennis is about to make landfall exactly 50 miles EAST of where I sit. So far in Mobile, NO heavy winds, NO power outages, and, best of all, NO patients in the ER wanting drug refills because "the dog ate my prescription" (thankfully, all the pharmacies are closed). Dee and I feel quite blessed. Thanks to all.
