We arrive in St. Maarten at 1:00 on Sunday, and depart on the 5:00 ferry to St. Barts. We should probably be at the Ferry dock around 4:00. Would love to have a great lunch there to pass the time. Taxi will be our transportation I suppose. Suggestions appreciated!

If you are taking the Rapid Explorer I believe it leaves from the marina near Philipsburg. Philipsburg is the capital of the Dutch side of St. Maartin and it has a number of restaurants and shops along a wide beach. I can't remember any specific restaurants but we did have a nice lunch and decent tapas when we were there a few years ago. You should be able to walk to the marina from there.

The problem is Sunday for lunch- a lot of places are closed. You will be leaving from Chesterfields in Philipsburg so try L'Escargot- 96 Front Street near the pier or Da Livio 189 Front Street. Chesterfields has a restaurant as does Bobby's Marina next door. SXM has a new boardwalk in Phililpsburg that has outdoor dining. Have the taxi take you to the pier and walk down to the water and look to your left- you will see the Boardwalk and everything that is available. Normally, you could walk to the dock where the ferry is leaving but I assume you have luggage so you may have to take a taxi to the dock. I hope this helps.
