I am considering going to Turks & Caicos in the near future & have heard many favorable reviews about the island. Any comments would be appreciated about accommodations and dining.
Thanks.

I have been to the Turks and Caicos twice and really enjoyed it. I stayed at Grace Bay Club 4 years ago and Parrot Cay about 1 1/2 years ago. It is a very different type of vacation but good for a change. There is NO shopping and there are few restaurants except the ones at the resorts. The beaches are beautiful and the snorkeling is fantastic (as is the diving and fishing, I have heard). There is one golf course. The islands are not nearly as developed as SB but this is changing. They do not permit cruise ships of any size, but the are several all inclusive resorts, including a Club Med. Everything is VERY casual. Hope this helps.

I can second the review of ssdssi. The Grace Bay Club is an intimate luxury hotel on a gorgeous beach. The food is/was good at the hotel, but the island lacked for good restaurants. It is a quiet island with the focus on the beaches and scuba diving. Great for a quiet getaway.
