Have you looked at Petits Pois in Columbier? It has it all--great view, four or five bedrooms--including a seperate studio that might do nicely if one couple wants privacy. It's handled by St. Barth's Properties.

Keven is correct. ALL drain pipes (sink, shower, tub) have what is called a "U" or "J" joint that holds water and provides a "water seal" in the drain. Think about it, without such a seal, you have an open conduit to the sewer or septic tank. With the water seal, no such open conduit exists.

When a drain is not used for a long time, one of two things happens. Either the water forming the seal (collected in the "U" joint) evaporates or other water running in connecting drain pipes pulls (by vacuum effect) the water in the drain, thereby breaking the seal.

Solution: Turn the water on for about ten seconds and re-establish the seal. Probably only need to do this once a week or so. If more often, okay, do it.

It is an easy fix.

Wow! IV is back in the saddle commenting on everything from Speedos to sewer traps! What would we do without our IV? Still waiting for more trip report details in VA.

Thanks. We have booked CEO (just received our official reservation packet from Wimco yesterday ....YIPEEEE) and are no longer concerned about the smell thanks to the input from this board and Wimco's assurance that we can be moved if any problem arises:)

Now all we have to do is wait 6 months ...

You will love it. The views are incredible and it is very private. Good choice.

Carter,
I second Maureen's response. When you walk in & see the view, you'll go WOW. You've chosen well. CEO's owner is well known in St. Barth (he lives in Paris) as someone who cares about his villa (Domingue) & his guests. You will not be disappointed.
Julie

We love Villa Bellview. Very private with a pool on Mount Jean. It has 4 bedrooms but one of the bedrooms is a suite with a sitting room that has a single bed in addition to two couches. The only problem I see is that the person in the single needs to enter the bedroom to access the bathroom via the main bedroom in the suite. Also, I think the 4th bedroom has two twin beds that have been turned into a king. Might be possible to have the split into two.

Did you checkout Bellevue Kermao, Playa Dorada , Camaruche or Danse du Soleil with St. Barth Properties? All well priced options in June.

Hope it works out...

Hi,
I'm the owner of Villa Domingue (or villa CEO, according to the SIBARTH classication). I stumbled by chance on this thread, thanks to Google.
First, I'd like to thank all the contributors who gave positive feedback on the villa. I was very touched to read these testimonies. That's a great Christmas gift. Every year, I try to find new ways to improve the house and make my guests' experience as good as possible.
Second, about the smell issue: it has been resolved, as I had the whole drain system reworked earlier this year. ;-
.
Wherever you choose to stay in St Barts, I wish you a very pleasant stay. Bienvenue!
