While losing the roof to the business, with all the flood and damage that went with it, sounds awful, I am glad that your home was spared and you two weren't injured. Let us hope that Ivan stays away and that Florida gets a chance to dry out.

I was in St. Bart when Hurricane Frances passed by... We got a scary warning from Villa owner that it's a CAT 4 hurricane and it's gonna pass North of SB at nighttime. Being from Toronto, I never faced hurricane b4. So i kinda got scared... The ownwer came and blocked all glass windows to protect them....

That evening we cooked at home, wathced TV... then went to bed... Woke up in the morning and it was Sunny!! I couldnt even tell when Frances came and passed by...

We were simply lucky i guess!!
