just a few notes...
thanks to all who gave input on eateries
Lawrys........it was unquestionably the best Prime Rib I have ever eaten and probably will ever eat..I cant say enough about the whole meal experience....everything was top shelf, top rate....but this place is about Prime Rib and only Prime Rib...as such their only other items on the menu are salmon and lobster......highly highly recommend it......
Emerills New Orleans Fish House...it was good....but I guess my only disappointment was in that I expected a hard core cajun menu..especially gven the name of the place....I was looking for Etouffe.....Redfish Ponchatrain...boiled crabs and crawfish etc etc.....the gumbo featured Mahi Mahi!!!....not very cajun....and my cold crawfish salad was skimpy on the crawfish.....but the blackened Grouper was excellent and everyone else at the table was pleased with their selection.....the carrot cake was exceptional too.....I would go back
Ruth Chris....what can I say...it was excellent..as usual..the most dependable consistent high end restaurant in the world....
Jimmy Buffetts Margaritaville...what a blast this place is...great drinks, especially margaritas...fabulous music....ok food......we had a lot of fun here and it warmed us up for the Buffett show we are going to next week
Paris Hotel was its usual great place to stay
The coaches clininc...I wont bore you all with details...suffice it to say....if you are a hoops junky...its three days of heaven.....best speakers.....Hubie Brown ( a riot...and wow what knowledge) and Gino Auriemma ( very funny and educational too).....most disappointing speaker....Lute Olsen....people were actually walking out on him as he tried to describe his 1 1 3 matchup in a very confusing and mumbled jumble way
well thats it...next stop is SBH....I feel very fortunate to have the kind of friends who dropped everything in their busy lives, and flew in from all over to be with me on my 50th....unbeknownst to me and planned behind my back by my wife..........that kind of feeling cant be bought or sold....

Happy 50th Mike! Surprises are fun.....glad your wife was able to pull that off. I am sure that was no small challenge!

Andy...you re not coming into my neighborhood and buying me lunch so you can just forget about that notion....LOL...by the way.....while I was there, I put a fifty on my beloved Packers to win the Super Bowl and got 10 to 1 odds.....and put a twenty five on the T Wolves to win the NBA ( I know the T Wolves are somewhat of a long shot but I thought 6-1 odds was pretty generous)
oh and ...for my B day.....my wife got me two tickets to Packers/Bears at Lambeau......how cool is that?
