dining in Vegas new
      #17275 - 05/03/04 07:16 AM

I am heading out to Vegas tuesday evening to attend the annual NIKE BasketBall Coaches Clinic, and to celebrate or comisserate, depending on my mood, my 50th birthday..,,we re staying at Paris ( how appropriate in an SBH sort of way..LOL ) which we already know from past stays, is a very good hotel....We have three dinner reservations....Ruth Chris, Lawrys, and Emerils Fish House.....I already am very familiar with Ruth Chris....but not the other two....

anybody know anything about them??

Mike R,
Small world. My neighbor is leaving this PM for Las Vegas & staying at the Paris hotel also(business/pleasure trip but not part of the coaches clinic).
I really like Emeril's Fish House. I have had a couple of dinners there, but spend most of my time at the bar there having appetizer's & beers.
His Delmonico restaurant at the Venetian is also very good.
We ate there last July & plan on eating there again whern we go back this July.
Have a great B-day(easy to do in Vegas)& here's hoping you get plenty of double down opportunities.
Eric

Mike:

Happy birthday! I'm turing 55 on the 6th! Shoulda figured you for a Taurus! What date is yours?

I liked Emeril's Fish House in LV and I've eaten at Ruth's Chris here in Columbus and it was very good, but I'd have picked the Palm instead if I was looking for a steak house in LV. You open to other LV restaurant suggestions? I can think of a few that are outstanding.

Steve....yes Im open to other suggestions..I am a huge Ruth Chris fan and I like Palm as well....Ive heard that Lawrys serves the best Prime Rib in the known universe....thats why I reserved there.....and my B day is the 5th (Cinco De Mayo..go figure..lol) so we are only one day apart.. and Im a textbook Taurus...stubborn..hates change....tempermentaL

Well, actually 4 years 363 days more than that, but who's counting?

OK - I absolutely went nuts over Aqua (in Bellagio) and almost as nuts over Commander's Palace (in Aladdin).

Other places I liked, but am not quite as goo-goo about as these two are Charlie Palmer's Steakhouse (in Mandalay Bay) and Delmonico.

I've been dying to go to three places, Picasso and Le Cirque or Circo at Bellagio and Renoir at Mirage.

We have a Ruth Chris in Toronto and Roger and I love it. Actually, thanks for your request for information, Mike R ! Me thinks I need to pick up the phone and make a reservation for Rog and I at Ruth Chris. My mouth is watering..... New York Strip and garlic mash potatoes.....
