To get to Villa shell Beach, you have to drive up toward Lurin, behind the Carl Gustav. It's not in town, but overlooks the end of shell beach furthest from town.Views are lovely, though.Sky Vista is in town, up the hill from the Wall House.

I'm not sure about Villa Shell Beach, but we have stayed at Villa Sky Vista a couple of times and it is definitely close enough to walk to the restaurants and stores in Gustavia.

You may wish to double check that Shell Beach has A/C in the bedroom

Thanks for your help.

We are initially choosing by location ie: close enough to walk to bars & restaurants but I have thrown a spanner in the works by remembering Crystal Dream on St Jean.

Crystal Dream is very nice.Gayle may want to give you details regarding the inside, but the pool and beach location are great.Of course, you have no sunset views, but can walk all of St. jean Beach and St.Jean restaurants, and it's especially close to La Plage.

We stayed at Shell Beach a couple of years ago. We loved the location, but the mosquitos were really terrible. It could have been the lack of breeze and could have been the massive amounts of potted plants. I know they've remodelled, so it may be better. I don't think we would stay there again.

We stayed at Villa Shell Beach in May of '07 and liked it very much. The bedroom does have a/c, which works very well. You can actually get it cold in there if you like. You can also close the shutters to make it very dark if you like to sleep in. The master bathroom is very large and has a tub with a shower attachment.

It's very close to Gustavia, but I wouldn't recommend walking it, especially at night, because it's very hilly and winding. We loved the location of this villa. It was very close to Gustavia - it's just up the hill and around the bend from the Carl Gustaf - and it's also very close to Gouveneur and Saline beaches. The villa is very private and clean, as well. The only issue we had while there were mosquitoes. It had been rainy before we arrived, so it was probably a combination of that and the undeveloped land around the villa.
