We heard this too while on island. We left in August and Saladerie was in fact closed. A great spot to gather and chat and make friends at nearby tables. Good music too. I wish Thiery well and he too will be missed. I am hoping, like the Phoenix, he can get it to rise up again.

Oh, this is really sad news! We love this place and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and location...great people too. I hope the closing is only temporary.

what a major disappointment if that is the case....or if that will be the case....another nail in the coffin....no doubt it will be replaced by something over the top in price and under the top in value....maybe they can trump the joint that gets 21 bucks for bean soup....LOL
repeat after me....change is good

This is very sad news..... Saladerie was a reasonably priced restaurant, with good food, and even better rum. Options for the budget minded seem to be diminishing.

we'll get along.Saladerie was very special, though. It really helped in June when we traveled with my husband's daughter,son-in-law and grandchildren. There were so many choices on the menu, and a great location on the water.I agree with MikeR on the issue of expensive pasta dishes.I'm not Italian, but Pittsburgh is, and I've had the opportunity to eat plenty of homestyle Italian cooking, and it's a budget friendly cuisine. We know better than to OOhh and AAhh over an over priced plate of something that's very difficult to ruin.
