Hey all,
So many options, so hoping someone can help me narrow some villas/areas down.
We are looking to find a villa that has pool, nice views (preferably sunset), walking distance or very near to town (assuming gustavia is the main town?). 2nd choice would be Columbier area.
We are also going in June of 2009, and wondered about mosquitos - Are there certain areas that may be better than others (ie those villas that are more elevated, etc?)
We are looking to spend around $3,000 - $4,000 range for the week. Thanks in advance!

Welcome John! You couldn't have picked a better place for your honeymoon!
My personal advice is to concentrate on the St. Jean area as you can walk to so many restos and shops as well as the beach.
As for options, check the Where to Stay link at the top of the page and look through the Rental Agencies and the Rent Direct links for villa configurations, options and prices -- many, many in your range.
When you find a few of interest, post and we will give you our opinions.
On mosquito issues, no area or villa is immune since they breed in the slightest shallow water, such as a plant saucer, even in very dry season. Most villas spray for them regularly and you can even call the on-island agency for a special treatment. Happy hunting!

Here is a feature that may be a help to you. You will have a wide range of villas with the price range you have stated and can look at 2 and 3 bedroom unit that can be rented as a 1 bedroom. There are 5 or 6 beaches you should make a point to try out on your stay so dont be too caught up in staying on or at the beach unless that is where you want to be. Remember, most people go there to go to the beach so they are plaing in you back yard as it were. There are a couple of good island maps floating aound on the site so study them a bit and get familiar with the island. It's only 8 miles as the crow flys from tip to tip so you can get from one end to the other in about 15 - 20 minutes generally. Look at a lot of villas like these and see what you think:

That's a variety to start with
Welcome to the ship wreck,

Look at www.skyvista-stbarth.com for a nice villa in Gustavia.Sky Vista has great sunsets and walk anywhere in town.Next door to the gendarmerie. We've stayed there many times, and Sophie, the manager, is darling.I think $3,500 per week, low season.

Villa Grand Galet just up the hill from the Carl Gustaf is a good choice. Better sunset view than the hotel(at least in December, but I don't think it is bad any time of the year). 15 minute walk to Gustavia and the vast variety of restos in town. Walk to Shell Beach. The only negatives is the pool deck is very hot and the walk to town requires an uphill hike on the way back. We have stayed there twice and really liked it. St. Barts Properties handles the villa
